Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claim that Tottenham have rejected an offer from Eredivisie champions Ajax for Steven Bergwijn. However, the report claims a five-year deal with Ajax is nothing short of a ‘formality’.

Good move for him.
What are they offering? What do we want?
Doesn’t say what they offered, we spent 27m, the article is saying that a bid between 15-20m makes sense for both teams so maybe they offered a lower amount.

Am I the only one here who will be sorry to see him leave? I think he could have been a success at Spurs.
I really like Berg but he seems like someone who might need pastures new to rediscover his mojo.
It's a real shame as the man's an absolute baller, and he has got better this term, but he still look's like he's playing within himself.
I wish him the best if he goes.

Would like to keep him, but not against his will. The price Ajax is willing to pay is low though, most Premier League clubs could use him. Worse players will go for up to 30

I hope a move to AJAX gives him regular playing time, he deserves it... I will never forget the Leicester win, that proved so vital to our season.

Clubs know we need to shift a lot of players so its gonna be painful. We cant keep them so will just have to cut our losses with some of them.
Christ our recruitment has been an absolute shower the last 4 years. No direction whatsoever, just buy any players and hope it works out. So glad we've had a restructure and booted those responsible. Not saying Bergwijn is shit, not at all, but we've knocked millions off the value of a lot of these players bcause they couldn't shine in a disorganised shit show.
What Conte has achieved on and off the field is nothing short of miraculous.

I think there’s a quality player in there but I don’t think Conte thinks he is good enough. For that reason it’s probably best we sell him and replace him with a player Conte trusts and will use. At the moment our squad options feel limited because of Conte’s reluctance to rotate the starting three with the likes of Bergwijn. Our best chance of success right now is giving Conte what he wants and I am happy to trust him on these calls.

Totally. We have signed multiple high potential players whose stock has fallen at least partly due to the mess we have been. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Reguillon, Rodon were all signed at considerable outlays and are probably worth less now than they were when we bought them.

15-20 M isn't worth it imo... We might as well keep him around .
25-35m would be a fair deal.

This guy is going to be a superstar in the future. We should try and keep him. Look what happened with salah and Chelsea. This guy has all the attributes please don’t let him go!

With out doubt he has talent but you need to play regularly to prove it, not cameo rolls. The same applies to Rodon another player I think has talent but was never played. I assume these players were watched before we bought them and they were established in the clubs they came from but if you're not giving them game time then you will never know. You can't make decisions on a handful of games. Somebody mentioned Salah at Chelsea and there was also De Bruyne also at Chelsea, look at them now. I'm not saying they are in the same class but if you have talent play regularly and it will show.
I agree if we don't intend to play them then they have to be sold but wouldn't be surprised to see them flourish with regular playing time at another club.

I like Bergwijn and hope he stays. If we're to win a trophy and get top 4 we need players like him and Sanchez for squad depth.
Of course if he's determined to leave let's get a fair price but I doubt we'll replace him with an upgrade
