Matty you are entirely correct. We've not taken anyone to court, asked for any reviews or done any of the things the ridiculously sensationalist BBC press are saying (hence the club releasing a statement).

We might do some or all of those things, but we haven't yet.

Absolutely ridiculous press coverage. Incredibly annoying.

Maybe I am missing something, but haven't all we've done is sent a few letters asking for things to be provided to us / questions answered.

Based on what we get back, we will then decide whether or not to ask for a judicial review.

Despite my objections to moving, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me for THFC to ask the decision makers to explain their decision further.

That said, I'm hoping that once the answers have been provided, they are sufficient for us not to persue this any further and spend the money on a new stadium, not on lawyers fees.

Stop that crazy talk and grab a pitchfork.

I was just starting to move past this incident. FFS let it go.

Too right. Don't want to watch a match over an athletics track anyway. Sod it, let them put a championship team in there and let it go...

Tottenham in Tottenham  end of...

My interpretation of this is not so much that Levy is trying to get the decision overturned, but that he wants West Ham to be legally obliged to keep the track.

As it stands I understand that West Ham could very well adopt the proposal Levy put forward a few years down the road from now, while we are still struggling to get our new stadium built. No doubt Gold and Sullivan are already lining up an Abramovich II to buy the club.

Levy is simply protecting THFC from what would be a very real long-term threat.

Good point. If Levy can get the decision overturned he will, of course. Making it so that the track is permanent would be the next best option. Get everything settled, legally, before the final papers are signed, by whichever club.

Just making ourselves look like cocks

No, the media are the ones trying to do that. I think the club are rightly aggrieved at being encouraged to bid (with all the months of work and cost that would have entailed) when it's pretty obvious we were just used to give the impression the OPLC had considered alternative options.

I'm the first one to slag-off the main-stream media, but in this case I'll have to defend the BBC

Everything that they write in this article, including the title is accurate, clear and not misleading:

It stated it was last updated at 16:12, so I would imagine the opening post was the original article, which is hugely misleading, but it has subsequently been updated to a more accurate article

Yeah I guess this is to ensure there is a legal backing for West ham to keep the running track as one of the key aspects of their successful bid.

Seems a bit off though....we are trying to f'up their stadium as sour grapes?? Just let it go...

Also have people seen the pics of the finished Olympic Stadium....it does look bloody gorgeous...

What with Leyton Orients judicial review and now us potentially joining the courtroom party, this could be have some excellent outcomes.

-We get the stadium
-Wet Spam go into administration
-The Olympics is even more fucked

Dont forget we have a good relationship with Orient (our ressies play there) - no doubt any legal action will be co-ordinated. Even if we didnt get the stadium we might get some very nice bits of compensation.

We're well within our right to kick off here. When Spam were awarded the stadium we all knew it was far from over. The fact the decision was leaked to the bbc before it was officially announced stunk more than billingsgate on a hot day.

It might look gorgeous but it is no football stadium.

I believe those specs at the near-side left hand side of the "pitch" are human beings.

How the fuck are you supposed to see what's happening at the far end of the pitch. Or the ball?

As someone pointed out earlier I'm sure Levy feels we were used as a second bidder just to get guarantees from Wham.
It is now obvious we never had a chance as D Camolli said years ago the club would never retain the running track and that should have been enough to rule us out without the expense of the bid. Levy wants and indeed deserves compensation for this stitch up and I back him all the way.

Go on Daniel, hit em with a right hook, mate.

DL and THFC are well within their right to ensure that the legally binding contract that will be issued to West Ham, is based on the very issues that were used to dismiss our bid and award West Ham's.

Anything less would prove bias and considering the financial investment made in making the bid, the potential effect that the failure had on our share price, could quite easily prove unequal bidding process which could at least result in compensation.

It's obvious now? Frankly, going in saying we'd tear up the track was a non-starter, however logical a solution it may have seemed (especially if you happened to be wearing double-strength Spurs tints). And no, I don't buy the conspiracy theories, either.

What's most likely to have triggered this, as Lammy said, is that Newham is being given one of the new Enterprise Zones whilst Tottenham isn't. That's pretty much a definition of taking the piss.

The more noise we create, the more power we'll have at the bargaining table with TFL, Haringey and all the committees that haven't been bending over enough in Levy's favour.
