Luton was a super heavy case over at least two seasons, point deductions for going into administration and not managing to get themselves out of it again. And every transfer at the time being dodgy in desperation of their financial situation. Night and day compared to our case.

Arsenal got a 60k fine for case like ours, Leeds got 250k and as you said ban to their chairman.

That Matt Lawson is a shit stirrer then. He made out the Luton case was the same as ours, never mentioned going into administration which is a much bigger deal nor did he mention genuinely similar cases to ours like Arsenal with Callum Chambers.

Something doesn’t add up. As a previous poster said feels a bit like the ‘‘they all are doing it’’defence in support of City and Chelsea. Half expecting now all sorts of old transfers with West Ham, Liverpool and other clubs over the next weeks and months to appear.

Not what I meant, I meant city and Chelsea broke ffp, ours was pre ffp I’m not disputing it’s not wrong just we can’t compare it to what city and Chelsea have been up to.

Nothing can be compared to City and Chelsea. Fake company sponsorships, wages paid out the country so U.K. tax thus not paid, a whole deliberate industrial strategy to cheat and deceive FFP rules over a decade.

There is nothing else like it and no precedent for City or Chelsea. It’s new territory.

Did West Ham ever get looked at for the Tevez and Mascherano transfers? They seemed well dodgy

The journalist is

so Arse get 60k fine and Leeds get 250k fine and a director ban for the same/similar thing and suddenly we get relegated for that.

I know the prem is being harder due to the regulator coming in but fucking hell. Luton isn’t a compare as that was 10 points for administration and we aren’t doing that.

Not sure what that journalist is then doing as by precedent we get a small fine and Levy might get a 1 year ban. How that is a comparison to industrial scale FFP deception and potential fraud like City and Chelsea beats me.

Yeah, unless this puts us in breach of FFP then this isn't relevant to current affairs. Go back far enough teams would transfer players without any agents, then a period where agents existed but there was no structure to support it, so what's the deal?

There have been dodgy registered agents, there are currently dodgy registered agents, it's a bit of a farce as soon as agents come into the argument as they are all self-serving leeches with few redeeming qualities and, if I had money then I would wager a pretty sizeable wedge, every single one of them has taken a bung of some sort. From a few free drinks, a meal at a fancy restaurant to encourage them to pass on a little somtin somtin to their client and everything up from there - they do what they do to make money, bottom line, and to think they wouldn't be tempted when enough zeroes are involved is pretty muggy.

Got a gut feeling that they will hit us with a point deduction for this. They will want to sanction every team but Chelsea/Man City as they know that those clubs will bend them over a barrel financially with lawyers and can out last them in court so they will not touch em.

11 minutes in. Simon Jordan is a much better talk radio presenter than he ever was a football club owner.

I have noticed when Simon Jordan talks about the game of football he is often very mediocre, I get far better insights on this forum than him but when he talks about legal, administration, negotiating he is elite and provides brilliant insights.

Arsenal got fined 60k for using an unlicensed agent....

It's over for us then.

60k* for Arsenal = 60 points deduction for us :(
Well assuming it's arranged by the "supercomputer" that works out that Arsenal are at home for every first and last game of the season and boxing day. While we are playing in the firey pits of hell Newcastle or the arse end of the country.

*I hear Arsenal paid it in pennies too.

It feels mad to punish a potential infringement surrounding a single transfer from 15 years ago but whatever. If there's a wrongdoing to answer for then so be it but it's hardly our fault that the FA doesn't know its arse from its elbow and never followed up on the results of an arbitration.

Also, hilariously ( :cautious: ), Sky Andrew was the agent who arranged the Judas transfer. I knew I didn't like the look of him.

So this is to do with us selling Defoe to Portsmouth?

I love the way people are just saying "oh well that's a points deduction then..."

Where's the evidence of that?

Only two teams before Everton have received a points deduction in the prem, one for not fulfilling a match and the other for going into administration.

Other transfer related issues like Arsenal with Chambers and West Ham with Mascherano and Tevez had fines.

Don't see how this is an outlier for a points deduction 🤷‍♂️
