This is good news. America has untapped potential of talent, but due to the competition at High Schools and the need to make a choice for college for the best athletes, soccer unfortunately loses out to American football, Basketball etc. And it is no surprise when you look at the fame and money that can be had in their own country, compared to what MLS offers. Premier League clubs going over and converting them early has to be a good thing and give those athletes a direct path to play in one of the worlds top leagues which can match the fame and money of the NFL, NBA, MLB etc.

Hopefully we will find some hidden gems doing this while promoting the game.

If this partnership is anything like the one we have with Real Madrid, I'm going to the bookies now and putting £30 on Lamela to Seattle Sounders for £12 million by the end of the window.

This clamour for the American dollar makes me sick.

it will be at a high price.

Football was fine before but got greedy, paying players £300,000 per week for what?

Football will be ruined, mark my words.

The Club have done a great deal of research into this location. With a high percentage of Hispanics in the State, there are opportunities to find talent from across the whole spectrum of the population. A great opportunity to tap into the US market where the sport is growing at unprecedented levels.

Add to this that Beckham plans a new MLS side in or around Miami then this bodes well for future prospects.

The idea is to to unearth future talent (like DeAndre Yedlin) that will not cost a fortune in transfer fees or salary.

If clamouring for the American dollar was the general idea it would take 1.76 of them to actually get a single English pound. The Club would be better off starting something like this in Europe if income was the only aim.

Good business/marketing move, great timing. This is where Brad's role will develop.

Not to mention all the developing world students who get athletic/ sporting scholarships to study there

Tallahassee and Seattle are over 3000 miles apart

Not really. Tallahassee is north Florida so mostly black & white. Hispanics about 8%. Still think its a v good idea esp with so many close colleges FSU, fla A&M, Georgia and GA tech a few hours drive.

Edit: true to the Hispanics in state, but they won't travel that far north - different catchment areas
