I don't think he believed we had the personnel to shut up shop, in retrospect, so wanted to kill off the game. Sanchez is very jittery and positionally not there yet. That affects the whole back line.
I think that "very jittery" is a little harsh on Sanchez, in CB terms he's really young and has been thrown in at the deep end. I like him and think he's done really well - I just wish he would stop letting the ball bounce when an opposition attacker is charging towards him.

At that point, we should have played possession football to get them tired, frustrated and then sent off.

Yeah, I mean at that stage getting a second goal wasn't exactly vital for us as Juventus had to score twice anyway. I think we just sensed that they were vulnerable and hadn't started the second half well at all, which is perhaps naive on our part. I'm not sure slowing the game down would have got anyone sent off though considering what Barzagli and Pjanic had gotten away with. Shades of last season's Monaco, but hopefully something we'll learn from. In the short term hopefully we'll take it out on Bournemouth and utterly annihilate them.

MP has to learn in CL you have to match proactive subs. When Juve brought on two attacking backs it should have been a warning - What are they going to do? What are they changing? For me it was to run at two tired full backs.

Once they got the second the two of them became natural full backs and gave Juve a back five which is centrally became a back six.

Tactical masterclass. We had a chance to bury. We didn’t. We had a chance to be astute. We were naive.

I agree he has potential, but I don't think he can be trusted at the moment. If Mourinho targeted him, then Austin Allegri would have done the same.

Too right, lets focus on getting back in the Champions League so we're ready to get knocked out the following season and focus on getting back in again

Liverpool look like right mugs now because they have more games to play. Haha losers!!

Mate us on our day can beat anyone. Although the fa cup is a much more realistic option, us getting knocked out of cl was gutting.

Even though yeah we probably wouldn't have won it, the performances we've been putting in recently including tonight showed we had the quality to do so. I'd fancy us against anyone left in it over two legs except City and Bayern. City because I'm yet to see how we'd have performed in home leg and Bayern because I've never seen us play them. This idea it's ok we're out as now we can get back into it is weird. Personally I don't think it's a particularly impressive quality level of teams left in it, many are nowhere as good as used to be. If draw is right Utd or Liverpool could easily get to final, that could have been us and it's pretty gutting.

FA cup win is equally as important as top 4, we need both. I'm bored of nearly doing things now.

I met two older gentlemen today who weren't Lamela fans. I don't know how I come across to people, but one of them told a Southend supporter that he needed to be careful as I was a Lamela fan. My wife tells me that when I think I'm being straightforward, I come across as somewhat menacing. Maybe it's because I'm northern and that unnerves southerners.
