Would have been a very brave call but poch could have brought on wanyama for dele at HT and go 4-3-3. Maybe even go to a back 3. Juve were using the full width creating space for them through the middle

A 2nd goal would have been nice to get but in the grand scheme of things Juve still would have needed 2 whether we scored another or not

We would have invited them onto us and then we could have picked them off

I'm disappointed but not that disappointed, it's a game we should have won but I've seen us give away quite a few goals in quick succession down the years.

Man utd lost a lot of games that they should have won before they won and all our rivals have failed a number of times.

My only concern is that our chances to qualify for the CL repeatedly is a lot more limited than theirs. The season could easily collapse from here. We have to make sure it doesn't.

Also now slightly concerned if we had mourinho or conte defending a lead we may have done it

Even if this were true think of how much dross football you'd have to sit through in all the other games.

Pochettino and the way we do things all day, every day.

"It’s the history of Tottenham, they always create many chances and score so much but at the end they miss something to arrive in the end,” he grinned. “The history is important.”

I would swap Poch for either but mourinho and conte have mastered defending leads in europe. We havent yet and neither has Poch

Painful when people say that because it's true

Very disappointing as we were in control before that 10 minute spell. They were resorting to typical cynical Italian tactics and they didn't really do anything special to turn the game around. Poor defending for the equaliser and then I thought we should have just dropped back a bit, but we pushed up high again and once they went into the lead I never really believed we'd break them down.

I still don't think we're clinical enough in the final third on a consistent basis and I don't think we're great at reacting to tactical changes on the pitch by the opposition. I also thought the game was crying out for Moura (even at 1-0). Even in his brief time with us I feel he's much more likely to come up with a match winning or saving moment than Lamela.

I guess everything has been said already in this thread but here's my twopence worth.
If we don't benefit from that game in next year CL we don't deserve to be in it, it was an object lesson in what you have to overcome to win starting from the Juve players assault on the referee when they didn't get a penalty.
When people were talking about Juventus' experience before the game I am sure not many people really understood what that really meant, well last night you saw it red raw.
I am sure people have posted about us shutting up shop and killing the game but we didn't have to go that far. We had a two goal lead and all we seemed to want to do was get a three goal lead, we should have given defending that lead a higher priority, don't get me wrong I am as guilty as the next man, I was there and caught up in the excitement and only realised after they scored.
Some credit to Juve though, their manager saw that situation and calculated that a change would exploit it, he was right but I also have to say that individually their defenders were very good, quite apart from their defence as a unit we won very few one on one's, maybe they keep their eyes on the ball not the player I don't know but credit where it is due.
We were undoubtedly the best team over both legs but they certainly had the nouse and that, if nothing else, is what we need to learn from this game.
Reasons to be cheerful, we are a bloody good team and experience is never wasted on this team, we are down no doubt but we are a better team this morning than we were yesterday morning.

It's not true- that is just weak thinking. This team is mentally very strong, always keeps trying harder and harder until the last minute. We nearly got there last night, with Kane's header at the end.
Let's be strong and confident, this is a great team and believes in itself and we should too.

Reasons to be cheerful, we are a fucking good team and experience is never wasted on this team, we are down no doubt but we are a better team this morning than we were yesterday morning.

A lot of truth in that, although Juve players were tight to get in the refs ear as it was a clear penalty and we got away with one there.

Poch should be telling the players to use this disappointment to make sure we quality for the CL again next year to put some things right next time we have a similar chance to progress.

Also need to really go balls out for the FA Cup now.
