Just a little slow and cumbersome sometimes. Good player wrong league, but id Pulis wants him (and Townsend) i'd willingly pay the limo hire.

(see what i did there?)............;)

"Spurs prepared to sell argentine international central defender, due to outstanding form of their two Belgium international central defenders and the emergence of two precocious talents in Kevin Wimmer and Cameron Carter-Vickers".

That would have been a much more accurate headline.

He is surplus to our requirements, but I wouldn't call him a flop
I would.
He's not out of the team because we have too many defenders or because he can't break up Verts and Toby. He's out because, in the hurly burly of EPL, he's far too slow which makes him a liability.... imo :cautious:

Edit- actually he might be ok in a team thats struggling so they sit deep for most of the match. Trying to play a high line with him? Fkin forget it.

He's not first choice but that doesn't mean he's useless. This squad has almost no experience and hardly anyone has won anything. Fazio has and I think in that way he adds something. Also, if we keep Dier in midfield, then Wimmer is the only cover at centre back and he's got zero premier league experience. If CCV has a loan spell and can join the squad next season, maybe trade him in the summer.

I don't wish to sound pissy and I'm not looking for an argument honest, but have you actually watched him play for us? Accident waiting to happen. Actually says that on his CV.
He's gotta go mate. He has no future here at all.
He's not second choice or third choice even never mind first.

Fazio has more high profile trophies on his record than most of the players in our squad ever will.

I'd really like to see Wimmer and CCV get some game time before we off load Fazio in January. Seems a big risk to me. Centre back is not like attacking positions where you can throw in a youngster in the later part of a game and not expect mistakes to cost you. It's the reason Wimmer has seen such little game time.

The trio of Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Dier are the reason for our solidity and are practically indispensable given our current options

He has also made the most glaring individual mistakes directly contributing to a goal for the opposition... And then repeated the same mistake in a future game .
For someone who is "experienced" that means he cannot be trusted by Poch and hence his current position.

Simple.

Bentaleb and Lloris have done the same. Nobody calls them flops though.

That's because when they do it it's the exception, not the norm. I could count on 1 hand the amount of good games fazio has had. Bentaleb and Lloris have predominately played very well for us.

You can always tell if someone is a success or a flop by using this simple method. Look at the team he signs for, Real Madrid (Bale Modric)= Success, Man Utd (Sheringham Carrick Berbatov) = Success, however Norwich (Bassong)= failure, Hull (Livermore Huddlestone Dawson)= Failure. I bet that using my method Fazio= Failure, why? Because he isn't very good, he makes Mertersaker look like Usane Bolt. I might have over simplified this but you get my drift. ;)

More than Walker?

i also recently made that point about walker after he f'd up and got a massive backlash about it... and i agree lloris was at fault in the last game, and bentaleb is not a regular starter for the same reason (plus injury).

ultimately doesn't matter what we think... its poch's decision
