If belgium get to the final then we have to wait until 12th july. for him to get in.

He is not a good manager at all and would be a disaster for us IMO. If we lose Kane, we’re gonna be in trouble next year, and he’s exactly the sort of manager who would exacerbate those troubles. I reckon he’d relegate us. :bored: And I’m only half joking.

Very early when his name was floated - there was an indication that if he came to Spurs, his backroom staff would take training until he completed Euros.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

It makes little sense. We could have had him before we got Poch.

You mean you wanted him when he was getting Wigan relegated but you don't want him now that he's more experienced and worked with some of the best payers in the world? Why?

Because we have progressed from where we were a few years ago (I say progressed because in the grand scheme of things we have albeit regressed in the last couple of years in my view). He got Wigan relegated but all his best players had been shipped off and it was a miracle they were in the league for as long as they had been.

Also he hasnt been in club football for what now - four years? thats a long time to be away from club football.

I take your latter point about him being away from club management, but I actually think Martinez's time at Belgium would work in his favour now. He seems to have evolved as a tactician and they look to be quite well drilled when I watch them. But there isn't one candidate that meets every requirement. Conte might be the closest in terms of someone who's a proven winner, has experience of the league etc (if Inter's financial problems meant he left), but he seems to be one of the less popular names suggested on this site. I'm fighting Martinez's corner but I'm actually quite indifferent towards him.
