Tottenham officials are becoming ‘irritated’ by their fringe players being unwilling to commit to moves away from their club. Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks are all reportedly training alone having been deemed surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte.

Why should they move away if the offer isn't right for them though? They were given contracts by the club and are entitled to either see those contracts out or move on for the right deal. Times have changed and everything, including contract terms if they move, has taken a knock.

Someone forgot to tell Barcelona, apparently...

It's sad and desperate that they're hanging on. Shows they don't really care about playing and are more interested in the money. Exactly why they're nowhere near the 1st team now.

This. Knock the players for choosing the money we've agreed to pay them over their playing time all you want, the fact is we agreed to pay them that money and as long as their contracts are still with the club it's our problem.

We aren't Barcelona. We're better than that.

Yeah but we aren't behaving like Barca.
We're basically just making it loud and clear that they have no future at the club and it's best that they move on.
We're not putting them in stocks and tarring and feathering them at the training ground but if (for example) Winks is turning down a decent offer from Everton, I could understand the club getting irritated.

With all that being said, this is an article from a shitty rag of a newspaper, so it's probably bollocks anyway.

They have every right to get the best deal for themselves and their families. If we can't secure moves for them in line with their current deals unfortunately we have to make up any short falls.

I don't disagree with this at all but at the same time, we have every right to keep them away from the squad in the meantime, especially if Conte doesn't want them.

I'd loan them, sell them cheap or do whatever it takes to get them away.
I can understand them wanting to get as much as they can but at the same time, they've got future careers to consider.

They can sit on their own little training pitch for a couple of years, earning their nice wages but what then? Who will want to pay them anything near a decent wage after a year or so of not playing?
Maybe they should take a drop to play and prove themselves. Maybe earn the contracts that they may feel that they deserve.

Fine, then when they're asked to train with the kids they can't complain either.

There probably needs to be a bit of compromise all round. The club need to accept lower fees than a couple of seasons ago and probably offer a bit of pay off money, and the players need to accept lower wages in return for playing time and opportunities. You have to assume that they all want to play, and in spite of all the vitriol he gets, I'd include Ndombele in that assessment.

How do you know that any of these players valuations and personal terms have not been met?

They understand that they are going to earn less as a result of dropping down a level of team or move to a European League but if they are just being defiant and unrealistic in their expectations then they can remain at the club, train by themselves and watch their value diminish further.

They know this, and their agents know this.

Every week they don't figure as a starter or on the bench, their value goes down. That hurts them as much if not more than the club.

Lots of clubs will be sniffing around for bargains at the end of the window. We're not used to getting stuff done early and I think it's made us a bit impatient to get our deadwood out. Historically, we wouldn't have done anything yet in the window, or very little at best. That's how the majority of clubs like to work. I think they'll all be shifted one way or another.

They aren't hanging on, well winks is a bit but nothing to be concerned about. They aren't just going to go anywhere though, they have to be happy with the move.

Ignore the article though cos it's pretty much bollocks.
