It's OK if you like your pubs with holes in the ceiling and cables hanging everywhere. Lol
However, it's actually alright. The staff are nice and it's never banged out enough to be uncomfortable.
Was in the coach and horses on Saturday and it was so packed it was a joke.
Cheap though, if that matters.

Always tbought it was a firm pub!

Dunno about that. It might be. Never took much notice to be honest.

Another pub that seems to be in terminal decline is the Elmhurst - just the other side of Bruce Castle Park from the High Road. I believe that the people who used to run the B&H moved there a year or two ago and, ever since when I've walked past, the place looks to be empty even on match days.

It was never the greatest pub but it was convenient for those who park nearby and it was always easy to get a drink. Had a good sized garden for sunny days too.

By contrast, the B&H has improved enormously since being taken over by new owners. Really improved the outside space and half decent food now also available.

Just bought a ticket for the Leicester game on impulse. From what I've read here Bill Nich sounds good for my first solo trip to the Lane.

Yep, a very odd lot running the place now. They don't serve halves on match days now and it's emptier than ever

They were however playing all the old chaz n Dave etc etc Spurs classics the other day

To be honest the pub has always been devoid of any atmosphere or character but you have generally always been able to get a pint within 10mins and it's bloody handy when you park over that side

If you want value try the Elbow Room on the High Road. You can get a pint of ale for about £2!

Nothing in the way of singing to be had though.

bricklayers when we beat woolwich 5-1 was the single greatest pub experience in my life

Headed back there from Wembley after the Chelsea Final... got there about 10pm and it was absolute carnage. Every few minutes you'd here a thud as another Yid passed out and hit the deck. The staff ended up stopping service and turning the lights off to try and get people to leave but it didn't work, everyone just carried on belting out the classics with off license Red Stripes raised up high!

I remember clearly, well almost, at one point the pub had dried up and had sold out

I’ve never had a problem with getting served at the Brickies, it’s more finding place to stand inside and outside sometimes that’s annoying. I haven’t been this season though.
