"e) has long retained board members who interfere in areas with which they are not sufficiently knowledgeable"

fuck them all, surely DL as chairman has the right to remove them?

So our owner actually isn't high up in he ivory tower as some fans alluded him to be?

Since no one is clean and everyone is questionable, can I just have the next wealthier owner who would at least invest in the club and players with the intention to win something? Then ENIC, Lewis and Levy can fuck off.
Wonder what the "moral" fans think?

I think they'd more likely be bothered by his tax evasion.

I understand why insider trading isn't allowed. But it does seem like quite a porous defence against human nature, almost like a fundamental flaw in modern capitalism. Theoretically good, in practice ridiculous. Why do I think this? because people talk.

This isn't a defence of anyone who does it, in case that isn't clear.

they've dragged the name of our great club through the mud for the last few years.

just get out.

I think that’s the long and short of it. They’ve turned us into a laughing stock this decade. Won’t be long before it turns off players coming to us.

Whether this news helps or hinders a new owner I have no idea. I can’t think it’s helpful.

if Levy doesn’t have enough time to devote to certain activities he needs then to learn to delegate or hire people to take the load. Nothing worse than a manager who thinks they can do it all by themselves as a superman.
The question is if he doesn't have enough time to do all the behind the scenes stuff, then why did he and Cullen jet off on the pre season tour to the other side of the world like they were part of the sodding playing squad?

Just get them all out, and lets get some actual stability into the club.

I really don’t think footballers give a monkeys, As the recent influx to Saudi has shown. As long as they get there £200k per week they will be fine.

This will sound pedantically defensive, but if I read you right, you’re comparing THFC‘s ownership with something like Man City’s.

But there’s a vast difference, which lays in the fact that while Lewis may be a high-octane Del-boy, and should be punished for his wrongdoing, THFC has done nothing and received virtually no benefit from his wealth, is not connected with his wrongdoing, and is not being used as a front to divert criticism from, and thereby enable the continuation of human rights abuses, and buy global acceptance, and divert criticism of an abusive and restrictive regime that very directly controls the lives of many millions of people.

Added to that the fact that clubs like Man City and Newcastle for example, distort football out of all recognition by rule- bending that allows them to hoover up almost whatever players they want from around the world while Spurs can’t buy a half decent centre half to replace Eric Dier, and I think the contrast is fairly straightforward.

I can’t argue with that!

Don't agree with this. Australia is a huge huge commercial opportunity for us, and he would have had plenty of meetings lined up while over there. Makes perfect sense for him to accompany the club there. Did he need to be seen and photographed on the training pitch given the current optics? Probably not. But he was right to be there on the tour. Was Kline not there? I would have thought he should have been as well.

Prof from COYS, mixture of ITK and opinion

b) is trying to convince potential buyers to pay an exorbitant price and keep him on in his current role for a certain period of post-purchase time because of his experience and because he is “a safe pair of hands”,
The arrogance and total lack of insight totally defies any belief. He genuinely thinks that someone is going to part with billions of pounds AND keep him in charge? Presumably on the grounds that his tenure has been such a marauding success?!?

Right now no ownership option is off the table, however as I intimated in a post last Friday,

Between those discussions, the ongoing tour, transfers in, transfers out, etc, there’s a lot going on. Some of these things are getting more focus from DL than others, to the detriment of those that are getting less attention from him”

Now you know what one of the items in the “etc” was. There are many moving parts making it difficult for DL (or almost anyone) to devote the requisite focus to all facets of the club that need attention.

Not so long ago the hierarchy was JL, DL and FP. Now 2/3 of that structure are under a corruption cloud.
:Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_32:

Not an easy time for DL, who

a) hired FP despite the known issues,
b) is trying to convince potential buyers to pay an exorbitant price and keep him on in his current role for a certain period of post-purchase time because of his experience and because he is “a safe pair of hands”,
c) is wondering whether the PL will decide that between the FP and JL issues it’s time to assess the fitness of the current ownership to run a club under their auspices,
d) doesn’t have Munn ‘officially’ on board,
e) has long retained board members who interfere in areas with which they are not sufficiently knowledgeable,
f) should be focused on the buying and selling of players, supporting our new manager, the ongoing tour, and the upcoming start of the season.

That’s as much as I can share for now. Really wish I could say more, but I can’t.
:Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_48:

If there are ITKs that have snippets which contradict the above info, I’ll be absolutely delighted.
:eusa_pray:
So do we think e) is ‘DC’…

Get ready for Joe Lewis to deploy the dementia defence

I’m just an old man whose getting forgetful. All I did was chat with people ( and I’m isolated and don’t have many chances to talk with others. It never crossed my mind that they’d try to exploit me and my friendship.

This will only work if he steps right away from all his businesses which could have some implications for the sale of the club.

Its been reported that Vivienne Silverton is more interested in the club and she did live with Craig Johnston for 18 years. But who knows.
