Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo has told Roma he wishes to leave the club. Tottenham have offered a loan with option to buy at £30million but Roma want an obligation clause amid interest from AC Milan.

The terms of the obligation to buy would need to be fair to both parties. My guess is that Roma would initially be setting the bar very low for that obligation to be triggered.

I'd like to see us agree to an obligation to buy and an option to buy, with a slightly lower fee agreed for the 'option' (as it would mean the initial loan went less well than if the 'obligation' was triggered). Something along the lines of:

Loan with an obligation to buy if we qualify for CL + option to buy if we don't qualify for CL.
OR
Loan with an obligation to buy if he makes X appearances + option to buy if he makes less than X appearances.

The perfect clause for us would be an obligation to buy if Conte signs a contract extension. ?
