Tottenham will make an approach for Ange Postecoglou and the club’s manager job is “his if he wants it”, sources have told Football Insider.

The Celtic boss is now the frontrunner for the vacant position and has the opportunity to join the English Premier League side after his team’s participation in the Scottish Cup Final this weekend.

He's certainly got potential but even he knows he wasn't top of the list as he was only quoted a week or two ago as saying something like "I'm the favourite? Wasn't someone else favourite last week? "

Have Spurs held face to face talks with him? If not I cannot fathom how we are ready to offer him the job.

Codewords, deniable meetings with deniable intermediaries in motorway service stations, and the judicious use of semaphore between distant hilltops. No face to face meeting though. No way.

I’m coming around to the idea of Ange. He speaks well about how he feels the game should be played. And the couple of Celtic fans I know say that he won’t stand for any shit from Levy either. He is very much his own man and has worked his way up the hard way. Might be just the man we need really.

Hope he can also persuade Diogo Jota and Kyogo to follow him south as well.

I'm coming around to the idea of having any manager rather than no manager. 🙃

In all seriousness though, while he wouldn't be top of my shortlist, I think we could do far far worse. He'd be coming in with a winning mentality and strong track record (success with multiple club & international teams in multiple countries), but presumably without the ego or drama that has come with out other recruitments of "proven winners".

With Jose & Conte not working out, I think most of us accept that going for one of the biggest names available probably isn't the best next step, as we won't be giving them the big transfer budget that they had in previous jobs.

This is the guy we need. All you doubters be ready to eat humble pie in 6-9 months. He will have this team playing the type of football we all crave for, and I believe top 4 this next season, followed by competing for title the next.
Tottenham stadium will have an incredible vibe once he wins the fans over.

If conte and mourinho couldn't get levy to play ball not to mention the guy who got us to the CL final then I think we're fucked.
Taken the black pill.

It looks it's him. This is probably the biggest gamble of all the managers appointed by Levy. I do think Kane is going request a transfer as this isn't going to get many excited.

I'm looking forward to the style of play but I hope there is some substance behind it. He will have a lot of good players returning to the club which will help. I hope he at least gets is challenging for top 4 and then we can build on that.

I’d also argue that’s a great way to deflect an awkward question

Kinda reluctantly renewed my season ticket last week. I was in 2 minds due to the dross we’ve been served recently.
If this guy comes in and plays attacking (entertaining) football I’ll be incredibly happy, even if we don’t finish in the top four.

Exciting times. We're only days away from releasing a statement declaring we were never interested in him.

Why would Kane not want to play Postecoglou's type of football? He's just endured 3+ years of durge here and managed to bag a load of goals.

I didn't say Kane didn't want to play his style of football. It's certainly not the big name Kane would have wanted.
