Well I think it should be clear that Townsend should try to model himself on what Bale did and perfect his craft on the left first.

Depends where AVB decides to play him.

But I agree I prefer him on the left - but I am not AVB

Probably to protect Fredericks, Andros slightly better tracking back maybe.

Based on what I saw, Fredericks did not need protection, I would say he seemed to more protect Townsend by cleaning up his mistakes!

Yep.

He looks disconnected from the team. Not really on the same wavelength.

Should have had a few more passes from team mates though.

Mentally and physically he just isn't there yet.

I'm waiting for a game where it'll just click for him.

And people wonder why Soldado wasn't scoring in the league, step forward Andros Townsend, needs to reign it in now, we had a ton of good potential breaks with players making excellent runs, sometimes a simple pass is the way to go, he has the skill when he wants, he's proved it with some of his assists previously.

I really am astonishing by Townsend, he is like the big kid at primary school.

I wish we could just give him his own ball.

He really needs to learn to play with his head up more, as soon as he gets the ball it's just head down and run then it's a while before he comes up for air.
