I wouldn't say that it didn't change anything, as such, because 3 points would have meant that if City had dropped any points at all, then we would have been in a position to capitalise. As it is, I think most people were expecting us to have to go to City and beat them, so from that perspective nothing has changed.

Nothing has changed in the sense that we probably have to go to City and win. But you're right to say that if we had won yesterday there's a chance a draw would have been enough.

However, it it keeps it in our hands, therefore it's a massive point.

Yes 3 points are better than 1. But the point I am obviously failing to make is that before last nights game we needed to match Man City's results here on in (as a minimum) and then beat them. This still applies.

People last night, and today on here seem to think that the whole thing is now reliant on Man City fucking up. It isn't, and to almost the same extent, 4th place is STILL in our hands REGARDLESS of variables.

I happen to think we will be sitting here on Tuesday talking about being 1 point ahead with the same games played.

It being in our hands is huge; I do get your point. A draw yesterday was more of a good result than a bad one.

And there is still a chance because after Blackburn beat them and we beat West Brom we will be 1 point ahead.

And then when we lose to Chelsea and they beat Everton?

All variables of course. We should just sit back and (try to) enjoy the ride.

I'm pretty chilled about the top 4 situation now. I believe we'll keep our best players next year whatever happens. So we either have a good run in the champs league again next year or we don't get in it and win the league. Great season either way.
