It's always great to win against Arsenal but is anyone else feeling slighty less elated than usual?

I think it's because everyone expected us to win today - including the Gooners.

I agree. I suppose it's difficult to compare it to the Danny Rose 2:1 but I remember being over the moon that night. Today felt great, but there was something about that game that seem to make us all realize we'd turned a corner. Maybe that's why?

After all, beating "top four" sides at the Lane is no longer uncommon.

You've also got to remember that that game was pivotal for our Champions League qualification. We were trailing Man City for fourth and had a run coming up against Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Bolton and Man City. Today's game was great, but it's so early in the season it could still be meaningless in the long run. We have a lot left to do.

Yeah, we'd been practically written off as well. The atmosphere at the lane that night was something truly special.

Great start to the season when you consider our opposition. Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Man Utd. We've arguably had the hardest run in and are sitting reasonably well.

The context is important, but I think it really does show how well we've progressed. Not so long ago I'd be happy to take a point from United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. Now I'd expect that at the very least.

I think we all just need a little time to adapt to our new roles (or renewed roles) as the masters of north London football. Casual superiority is much harder to pull off than grateful underdog.

We were the favourites. We played badly but still won. For me this marks a significant changing of the guard, and for that reason it is a wonderful occasion.

Good point. The start was supposed to be a stumbling block, but we're right up there after all those games. Plus we have a nice run-in (on paper).

Oh and good choice of location by the way.

It was an odd game. I think the disappointment stems from the fact that though we played well against what is a still a good team; we know we could have played better.

I almost went to the Sportsman today, but ended up in the Bush in Totterdown.

I'm from the south east originally, so not a native Bristolian, but I've always preferred Rovers over city. Ironically I'm now living in BS3...just moved into a place near Victoria park.

Nah I'm also not a native Bristolian by birth, my family are from here and I moved up here for Uni and stuck around. Love the city, great music scene, and quite simply the good overall vibe.

I'm up at Ashley down at the mo, always lived around the Stokes Croft/St Pauls area though, and usually stick to the area when I'm out and about.

It'd be good if Spurs fans adopted a Bristol pub as there own, I always want a bit of atmosphere but never know where to go!

Up until recently I lived on Ashley Hill. I work in Stokes Croft (lovely area ).

There are a lot of Spurs fans in Bristol, but no Spurs-based pubs as far as I know. The Tavern on Gloucester Road usually has a lot of Spurs fans, as does the Walkabout in the centre..but that one is always a bit mixed.

Next time you go out to watch a Spurs game you should let me know. All my mates in Bristol are either Arsenal or Liverpool fans, so I usually end up watching games on my lonesome. Bastards.

Yeah I watched both Carling Cup finals in Walkabout and there was a good Spurs contingent. I think I even heard a rendition of Oh when the Spurs sang pretty well.

The great thing about Stokes Croft is no matter how hungover or sleep deprived you are you still feel you look a million dollars compared to most of the tweakers and crusties that are chugging a delicious can of White Ace at 11am.

Yeah defo, I'd be well up for that, seeing as we frequent most of the same places it's only logical! I'll drop you a PM if I am out n aboot. :)

As long as we keep making little steps forward, then we're doing well. We can't be disappointed that we didn't smash Arsenal for six, that will come in good time. At the moment we're beating the top 4 and winning away from home. To complete the set we just need to be beating the bottom 10 consistently and we can safely forget all about Arsenal.

Don't let Arsenal bother you. It's like being disappointed you didn't fan away your last fart with enough style. Bad smell gone, job done. Their hurting will be making up for our 'meh' to it all anyway, so we're winning whatever happens.

Ledley is the key for us to reach top 4. I dont think anyone will disagree with that

Scum fans are shitting it at the prospect on Jenkinson starting for the next 3 months! Sagna is the best right back in the league. His absence is a HUGE blow to them

On a more serious note there was a report of an abduction in the North London area.

However, its has turned out that the man, a Mr R Van Persie was in the same place he had been since approximately 4pm, in a Mr Ledley Kings pocket.

Ah well alls well that ends well.

Urgent appeal on behalf of Mr Obscene Whinger:

Elderly gentleman of ill-repute, Obscene has reported the loss of his team's prized possession somewhere on the route to N17. He told reporters "I am fairly certain we had our goal-threat with us when we set out, but somewhere between the Scumerates and WHL it must have fell out of my bag.". Mr Whinger is deeply concerned about this loss, he says it has been an important feature of his working life for the last 15 years. "Obviously" he says "we tried to carry on as normal, but without your goal-threat what can you do:shrug:. We were competing against a team who still clearly had their goal-threat, and that made the contest slightly uneven. I thought for a while that we might gain an advantage when took control of midfield. But then it became clear that even then they still had a goal-threat and we just couldn't find ours anywhere. I sent Pat Rice out to look for it, he searched up and down the High Road, but it just wasn't there. I fear someone may have picked it up, put it on their matlepiece...you know, like, as a souvenir".

So, if you have picked up Mr Whinger's goal-threat, or you know of it's whereabouts, please, please give Mr Whinger a call on 331 21 21. Please listen to Mr Whinger's heartfelt appeal: "I am an elderly gentleman, and just cannot get by without my goal-threat. Please, if you have it return it to me. Without it, I just do not see the point in continuing anymore".
