Playing at Wembley had no bearing on the result, that FK would have went in no matter what ground we played at, and the errors leading up to the second goal were just so fkn frustrating.
Probably true but today was like every game we've played at Wembley.

Spurs home form 2015/16

Played 19
Won 10
Drew 6
Lost 3

Thinking that we were going to repeat our form from last season was wishful thinking at best.

Oh I never expected it at all.

its not a great start though is it?

Fingers crossed this won't get in their heads.

I wold love to our stats on coners, because again, we were in double figures but I don't remember having an effort on target with any of them.

What really pisses me off about the result is that the wembley hoodoo continues, the media latches onto that and snowballs it. Also, it's against the team I hate the most who basically will claim wembley is their pseudo-home with the amount of wins they get there (especially against us). First ever premier league game at Wembley and we lose it as the home team against these fuckers, even the scorer for our team was their player: It's all very aggravating.

Also ends our unbeaten home record from before last season, ughhhh

Nothing to do with Wembley. We played well enough to win. Missed a few opportunities.

But, having said that - there should never be a reason to play Dier and Wanyama together - unless Dier is specifically part of a back 3 (or 2).

And courtois hardly had a save to make
WHY do we keep saying we bossed the game, we dominated possession so we will be OK....!

We win football matches by scoring goals, and the sad truth is we had 68% possession today and managed 1 goal and that was an OG...

People are spamming fans for being realistic about this season and saying we dominated the match but stats don't win football matches and cups, goals do and we didn't do enough today - end of!

Will we be OK - yes ofcourse, we wont be fighting relegation like some seem to be indicating but will we finish top 4 - no, not in my mind. yes Chelsea are a good side and always a tough match but they had key players missing today against our best 11 (bar Rose - who may end up leaving anyway)

Lets not all fight and get back to supporting the club as we will be fine but it is pissing me off the amount of fans saying we bossed the game so we are kneejerking... I agree there is a lot of knee jerking but it should be more on the amount of wasted chances today and no creativity from corners, we need pace and badly in these next 2 weeks of the window if we want top 4. If we don't get this we wont get top 4... in fact be lucky to get top 6.

Corners for us are fucking pointless. We may as well just kick it out of play. Their second goal even came from one of Eriksen's many deliveries straight into Coutois' arms. Eurgh.

Also why did we go back to Eriksen taking them rather than Davies? At least Davies managed to swing in a couple of semi-threateners early in the second half. I honestly can't remember the last time Eriksen hit a half-decent corner that both beat the first man and wasn't right down the keeper's throat. So frustrating.

(note this isn't a go at Eriksen who was without doubt one of our better players, more just frustration at the fact we seem to persist with tactics that repeatedly fail.)

No but taking 1 game as a sample size compared to 19 last season is a bit of a stretch.

Last season's form was exceptional and I knew this was going to happen, as soon as we lost or couldn't match what we did last season people were going to say it's because of Wembley and ignore other mitigating factors.

If we're going to continue to play without wings we're going to need our fullbacks to provide width. Tripper & Davies just don't do that. That's our biggest weakness right now and it shows against the top sides. We need a healthy Rose and another RB.

Teams of some quality will enjoy sitting back to hurt us the way those scums did... Those big teams will surely take today's game as reference before facing us I'm damn sure.. We enjoyed playing those lesser teams that were not afraid to throw forward, leaving spaces for us to exploit.. Another victory for the prick Conte over Poch so far in this new season..

Dembele has to be the guy team built upon for such games.. We must have some inivitation for them to come forward, with someonre like Dembele to hold the ball up so well in the middle and break forward at every little spaces opening up behind..

I have faith the boys will bounce back - they'll be gutted now, you could see by Kane's reaction at the end.

Onwards and upwards - it's a marathon not a sprint.

We didn't lose the game because of Sissoko. We lost because our keeper makes too many mistakes in big games.

Where did i say we did? I questioned why he felt bringing Sissoko on, who has done nothing what so ever of any note, was a good idea?? And what he felt Sissoko was going to bring to the game?

most disappointing thing about the game is that we made Chelsea look a heck of a lot better than what they actually were. They had 4 attacking moments all game. They were solid at best, but we need to gain the mentality that killer mentality if this squad is ever going to achieve anything.

I think Conte set his team up perfectly to beat us. Willian being outstanding and showing Poch everything we miss going forward.

I really hope Son starts next week!
