I'm really surprised no-one is mentioning Danny Rose, I think he has a part to play this evening, even if it's from the bench. If Bale doesn't make it I'd put him LW.

Yep, thought the same thing. Rose left wing and Bale on the bench incase we need him.

If Bale has got a dodgy ankle then I would rather him not start.

If Bale misses out I can see us going with a diamond midfield.

Sandro
Parker------Modric
VDV
Pav----Ade

Parker main role would be to stop Mata but also to press high up the pitch.

I'm not a fan of playing without wingers but I think Harry might decide to go this way if Bale is out.

I actually cannot take this anymore - I am so nervous about the team news for tonight. It'll be such a kick in the bollocks if we lose this game tonight because we couldn't field half of our strongest XI, esp when you consider that was the case vs Man U and Man City.

I've given up doing any work for the rest of the day, and have just resorted to silent prayers to the football Gods that injuries don't rob us tonight of a great chance to enhance our ambitions for the season.

Come on Spurs!!!

Having seen Rose and Townsend at youth and championship/ league 1

Townsend over Rose every day of the week at LW since Rose's terrible knee injury

Rose can be a great Lb but LW isn't for him anymore since that injury

I read it on Twitter, but apparently it was on SSN (I didn't see it to confirm it, mind you).

Though I'm not entirely sure how accurate SSN would be on these matters either, thinking about it...

 Sounds good. Now all we need is some confirmation about King, but I guess that's going to be a last minute decision.

Im not expecting too much from Bale if he does play, it seems everytime he has played with a niggle before/not felt 100% he has looked noticeably poorer. VDV and Modric need to really be on top of their games tonight so to not overburden Gareth

...Cue him banging in a hat-trick tonight now making me look ridiculous

Even IF Bale is in he cant be fully fit. I always get the impression with Bale he is one of those players who need to be 100%, last season when he had any slight twinge he would lose confidence. Most pace players are like that, they need to know in their head that when they push off for a run the body wont break down.
Ledley is completely diffirent and if he is in he will play 100% and this is more important to me.

Even if Bale isn't 100% on the top of his game, he'll give them something to worry about. I know who I'd fear more, Pienaar/Kranjcar or a 75% fit Bale.
