For those saying 4th is gone, we are actually 4th right now. Yeah. Mad, I know. AND, if City lose to Everton now - which is possible - we will still be 4th.

Mental, eh?

we were unlucky today, but as I've been saying all thru the transfer window we need a new striker

the only duo i rate is crouch and defoe

i was bitterly disappointed when harry picked the diddy combo again

i still thought we'd win - but i also thought yep you've played right into phil brown's hands

lacking pace without lennon and jj (who i also thought should have started besides Crouch) we then nullify the aerial threat too

i bet phil brown loved it when he saw our team sheet

but to repeat we were unlucky and deserved to win

unfortunately 4th now seems off the agenda unless we get a win at anfield

This is a good point, I should think that Hull were given a big boost when they got our team.

We are seriously in danger of blowing our chances of 4th place by not playing our strongest available team against lower half sides at home. 8 points dropped at home against Stoke, Wolves and Hull would give any team a mountain to climb.

Would you have been saying the same if it was Defoe or Crouch

And Defoe i think should have scored, Crouch got as much on it as i think he could have.
 I would. Honest guv'. Would Defoe or Crouch have been critised in the first place though? Certainly not Defoe by most people anyway.

I'll have to see Crouch's attempt again, but I think he could have done better.

I understand where legend is coming from - i just get so depressed when i see keane's name on the teamsheet

i have no faith in him at all

apart from penalties - i don't fancy him to score

i don't fancy him to make goals, harry's claim that he 'thickens up midfoeld' IIRc

what's the point of that v teams like hull and wolves - we don't need the mid thickened - we need it diluted - it's the attack that needs thickening against teams like that

I'm not going to call keane names

just the sight of him playing in crucial games just depresses me and has done for a while

You are more anti Keane than you are supportive towards the Team. You are like a fucking broken record. You do fuck all only spout shit about Keane.

Because I firmly believe that it will be his presence at the club that will cost us playing CL football next season. That is the reason why he and it fucks me off so much.

I support Spurs, not Robbie Keane or any other player like some people do.

yeah i thought all 3 of them should have scored. Alot is being said about hull goalkeeper being amazing, but to be honest must of the shots were straight at him, our strikers made him look amazing
I thought his double save in the first half was increcible, but your right about the rest of them.

What were the differences between this team and the one that ripped Hull apart 5-1 at their place earlier in the season. I know Defoe and Keane were upfront in both so you obviously can't think that Brown was pleased to see that combo. Was it Bale at left back that made him giddy with delight do you think?

Do you really think we'd have scored a penalty, the form Myhill was in? That was one of the best keeping displays I've ever seen.

that's just the point i made -

but of course with a proper penalty taker - yep

i don't care what form myhill was in - put greavesie out there and he'd have been picking the penalty out of the net

indeed old jg would surely have put at least one of those chances away - we're talking about a different level of player to our current strikers

But we created better chances with Keane on the pitch than Crouch.

I didn't want Keane to start, but we still had plenty of chances to win when he was on the pitch and he didn't "thicken" the midfield.

What happened to Palacios? Injured or another one of those pointless early subs to keep JJ sweet, that does nothing for the team? I missed the first half, byt he time I started watching we had the un-dynamic duo in midfield.

Think that about sums it up. His passing wasn't great but i think he was doing better than Hud

Defoe and Crouch should be the front two, we always look more threatening and usually win when we have those 2 together, they complement eachother very well and know eachothers game. Keane will have to make do with 3rd choice, he's done nothing lately to even warrant a starting position.

There is a big difference playing away from home and playing at home. Away the home team will always have some duty on them to come out and attack therefore leaving space for us to work in.

At home these teams are coming and blocking out the space and getting bodies behind the ball, if you don't think that in those circumstances a physical presence helps especially when we already have clever footballers like Modric and Kranjcar in the side that is your right. To me it's a staggeringly bad selection by Redknapp which has already been shoved down our throats by the loss of points previously.

As for Bale, no I think that Brown wouldn't have been particularly fussed one way or another by his presence.

Amazes me.. Nyhill made about 100 unbelievable saves. Thats all - thats what cost us. Not this player or that player. We could have played better but we still created enough to score 4 or 5. We just came up on Nyhills best ever game in his entire life, including the U/10's match where he saved 6 penalties and scored a hatrick.

he way on a yellow and maybe a risk of being sent off, but if anything it should have been huddlestone off, he was the definition of passenger. JJ as i recall provided to 2 decent setups for crouch and defoe as well as some pace and directness
