Got to pick Kaboul and Vertonghen. Like it or not that is our best combination at that back at present. All our defenders are liable to gaffs. Kaboul is captain so is a shoe in and Vertonghen is our best centre back.

Other than that I think it's the same 11 that played against citeh. The only other change I would be tempted to make because it is at home against a lesser team is to put Kane up front (not in goal).

Soldado did nothing wrong against Citeh apart from miss the penalty and i would be quite happy for him to play but Kane has been scoring and I think deserves a chance. Ade can fuck off for this game.

Lloris
Naughton Kaboul Verts Rose
Mason Stambouli
Lamela Kane Eriksen
Soldado
Harsh on Chadli and Capoue but I think the defence need that extra protection at the moment that Stambouli will provide over Capoue. I think Soldado has to play after how well he linked the attack v City, Lamela and Kane deserve a start after their mid-week performances and Eriksen has been regaining his form. Also with Chadli's injury record, maybe the extra rest will be beneficial long term.

Interesting, but I don't think we can drop Chadli over any of our strikers. I'd rather even play Chadli at striker than drop him. We have got to reward his contribution so far, just as Kane deserves due reward for his performance Thursday.

Who would you exclude for him?

Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli & Soldado for me, Kane could be useful off the bench but I think everyone is forgetting how Harry will start flagging fitness wise after Thursday, that's not to say he doesn't deserve his chance, he most certainly does 100%.

If Soldado had scored a hat-trick on Thursday then people here would be demanding that he starts against Newcastle so im going to afford Harry the same luxury. Go get em Hazza!!

We sliced through them once.
I will be fucking amazed and even more annoyed if we look to that game to build upon. We should look more to our last game when MoPo played very close to our best XI.

If your going to reply then get your facts straight, you've already been pulled up last week saying you missed one of our chances popping off to the fridge for a Ribena, i can count 3 without a second thought.

Think its a good point.

Not sure how many games he has played in over the last few seasons, but we have to be careful that we dont burn him out during the season.

Play two up front.... Soldado and Kane. One central defensive midfielder protecting the back four.

Fitness wise I don't think he can handle it yet, also worth noting how much his body has changed since we first saw him play, add in the fitness level required by Poch I just don't see it.

I don't think we should change what we are doing, we started to look fluid against City, this whole expectation of instant gratification football if we play 442 is puzzling, let Poch evolve the style over the season.
People are again underestimating the barcodes, teams out of form have a nasty habit of suddenly turning up against us.

I think there's a pretty solid strategy by playing him as a first choice in the Europa where the pressure is less and allowing him to score goals and develop at a faster rate than he likely would in the Premier League.

Not sure why anyone is talking about 4-4-2, because we certainly didn't play a 4-4-2 on Thursday night. Kane played in the no 10 position.

Well, one person who speaks a lot of nonsense has mentioned 442 and no one else.
