By far their greatest threat is Sturridge down the right, he is quick, skilfull, strong and inventive. We must win that battle in order to win the game. He tore Newcastle about down that side as well as wigan but in both cases they had a makeshift player at left back.

If Bale is fit and can push Sturridge back I really believe that we can have some joy. Lennon is obviously a very big loss but we can cope with that.

I would go with

That is a very strong side but as we all know it leaves Walker a bit exposed but I think that Sandro/Parker could cover him.

Not the best of games. Sunderland were quite negative for most of the game. The goalkeeper was time wasting from very early on. Thought on balance of play we deserved to win. We really missed Bale & Lennon (after he went off). Think it might be some thing we need to look into in the transfer window getting some pacey back up players for those two. Sandro was immense today as well.
