Not our best performance but that makes the result all the sweeter. Winning games like this is what we've got to do if we're going to win with the league, which we have to keep aiming for.
Delighted for Winks. Love his passion and was really impressed by his all round play. Great passion in his post-match interview. He should keep his place alongside dembele.
Would like to see Son start against Monaco too, he mare a real difference.

Why is my quote on walker taking an absolute age to cross the ball getting spam and doh?!

Honestly, why does he always check when crossing the ball? Do you know how frustrtating that is for the forward players not ever knowing when he is going to cross? Do you know how much easier this makes it for the defending team? Look at how much more effective we are on the left with Danny Rose a lot more direct and a lot quicker at getting the ball in the box.

I'd like to hear people give me the benefits of Walker constantly choosing to never cross the ball in first time when it's played to him in a good position? Answers on a post card.......

Want to say well done to Mike Dean too. Those Janson on Reid should be a penalty every time and that manhandling needs to be punished out the game.

I'm tempted to say that, as soon as it is actually possible, our team needs to be:

Lloris
Walker
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Rose
Dier
Dembélé
Lamela
Alli
Eriksen
Kane

in the league. Rotate in Europe. Harsh on Wanyama, who has probably been our most consistent performer, but we need to rediscover last season's mojo, pronto.

I've noticed this season we have not been pressing like last season also main problem our play is so so slow. Slow 1 touch passing etc etc.
Really need to get into gear.
  • No group/co-ordinated pressing
  • No off-the-ball movement in the opposition's half (and especially not enough dynamic movement in the final 3rd).
  • Not getting around the back enough from the flanks (which I have been banging on about for fucking ages and we get 2 goals from doing so today).
  • Consistent poor decision making in the final 3rd.
  • Not confident/secure enough with our distribution from the back - Hugo has been dodgy af and Jan hasn't been much better in this regard. When they combine it's caused some very hairy situations that were totally unnecessary.
  • Ponderous/negative and too risk averse with our passing overall.
Thank god for winksy today who played many veritcle balls in between players and looked to be incisive.

Eriksen is a waste of space on the whole and is clearly just picking up a pay check. He has no ambition and is a Journeyman footballer who wants to just earn a good living and not get hurt in any way, shape or form. Nah-ah, that shit will not fly.

There are other players of similar stature in this league who are gritty, fierce and leave it all out there - Silva being one.

I think it's totally unacceptable and Poch needs to stop giving him special treatment; it's unfair on some of the other players in the squad.

Grateful for the win, but I'm still not convinced, at all, that we're going to do anything this season. All I see is 6th/7th for us.

That in itself isn't the end of the world if we're fighting like dogs every game

We must regain the level of integrity we had last season.

It's probably the only real weakness in his game.

Stats are a funny thing... according to the stats we've dominated with 70% possession and out done West Ham with 9 attempts to 4... when in reality we've been damn right awful for 80-90% of the game.

Rather than awful I would say we can be comfortable to play against as its easy to nullify us.
