Spurs looking to prolong the Latics' miserable start to the season
Tottenham Hotspur, fresh from their European heroics, welcome struggling Wigan to White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Spurs booked their place in the UEFA Champions League group stages in midweek, and were rewarded in Thursday's draw with a place alongside reigning champions Inter Milan.
Harry Redknapp will be keen for his side to carry that feel-good factor into their weekend fixture, as they look to build on a promising start to the season.
Their recent record against the Latics suggests they should have reason to celebrate on Saturday, with Wigan having won just one of their 11 meetings with Spurs in all competitions.
Tottenham also put 12 goals past Roberto Martinez's side in the Premier League last season, aided by a famous 9-1 win in the corresponding fixture last term.
They are unbeaten in their last 12 home games in the Premier League and Manchester Unitedare the only visiting side to have found the target more than once on a visit to North London in the last 37 top flight encounters at White Hart Lane.
The omens do not look good for the travelling Latics, especially as they have endured a dreadful start to the 2010/11 campaign.
They currently sit bottom of the pile, having shipped 10 goals in their opening two games.
Martinez's men are the only side yet to score in the Premier League this season and are on a run of six straight defeats away from the DW Stadium.
Team news
Spurs' demolition job at White Hart Lane last season was inspired by Jermain Defoe, who bagged five goals, but he could be missing this time around as he is nursing a groin complaint that looks set to require surgery.
Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is struggling with a similar ailment, having been forced off against Young Boys on Wednesday.
Jamie O'Hara (back) and David Bentley (ankle) will definitely miss out, while Jonathan Woodgate is still sidelined as he prepares to undergo groin surgery in an effort to save his injury-ravaged career.
On a more positive note, Croatian playmaker Luka Modric should be welcomed back into the fold after overcoming a hamstring problem.
Victor Moses will miss Wigan's trip to the capital after damaging ankle ligaments in his side's midweek Carling Cup victory over Hartlepool.
The England U21 international is set to be out of action for two to three weeks, having only just returned after a calf injury.
Steven Caldwell is set to make his Premier League debut for the club at White Hart Lane, but his brother Gary remains sidelined following hip surgery.
It remains to be seen whether Martinez will choose to throw Charles N'Zogbia into action against Spurs, as the French winger was the subject of an improved bid from Birmingham on Wednesday.

Carlo Cudicini will replace first-choice Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes, who injured his groin in midweek.
Striker Jermain Defoe, who hopes to avoid groin surgery, could play against Wigan, but midfielder Luka Modric is again ruled out.
Wigan youngster Victor Moses will be sidelined for at least two weeks after hurting his ankle on League Cup duty.
Steven Caldwell, who made his debut on Tuesday, should retain his place, but his brother Gary is still injured.
Tottenham
Doubtful: Defoe (groin), Dos Santos (hamstring), Keane (knee)
Injured: Bentley (ankle), Gallas (match fitness), O'Hara (back), Gomes, Modric & Woodgate (all groin)
Wigan
Injured: Gary Caldwell (hip), Moses (ankle)
After leaking 10 goals in their opening two games, Wigan look to stop the rot against a Tottenham side who put a dozen goals past the Latics last season, including a 9-1 win in this fixture.
Pressure is growing on Wigan manager Robert Martinez. Not since Manchester City in 1962 has a top-flight team conceded so many goals after two games.
To make matters worse, Birmingham's public pursuit of winger Charles N'Zogbia risks unsettling Wigan's star man.
The Latics did keep a clean sheet in Tuesday's League Cup win at Hartlepool but a trip to White Hart Lane is a far more daunting prospect.
Wednesday's win against Young Boys in a Champions League qualifier extended Tottenham's unbeaten home run to 17 games. European champions Inter Milan now lie in wait for Spurs in the group stages, along with Werder Bremen and FC Twente.
