Its sad that the family have had to fight for this for so long and can now hopefully build some sort of life for the lad with the compensation.
This was back in 2006, there have been so many advances in training and monitoring equipment. All clubs have a responsibility to check the health of the players and regular points during matches and training.
The Fabrice Muamba incident was only 4 years ago and I think that escalated the need to be vigilant even further.
Hell...only the other week that Sunderland player got pulled from playing against us just before KO due to irregular results from a heart scan/test.
Lessons will definitely have been learnt...its just sad that its happened.
Why did the club not admit negligence or were they stating that they were reliant on the professional opinion of the medics?
