Romano said: “Tottenham’s goals in central defence will depend on the price. I can tell you that one of the players they have been watching for a long time is Mohamed Simakan from RB Leipzig. Another player they greatly appreciate is Josko Gvardiol. These are two players who really like them, but it depends on the price.

Is this a new link? I've not seen him linked before.

WTF - where’d the 150m go?

Just go big on Bremer ,Spence and Martinez using that money and Eriksen on a free and it’s job done. We are back in with a shout.

A few quid will also be generated by the sales of CCV, Bergwijn. Winks, Sanchez, GLC, N’ Dom, Royal etc.

Levy will be quids in ffs!!

Fabio should just give me a call for a bit of consultancy. Will do him a good deal being spurs and all. ???

I doubt we will get bastoni or Gvardiol it's looking like our CB options are a bit underwhelming after that.
I didn't think the club would be bringing in top notch talent as only the elite clubs get those, but I think what we have bought so far is fine and if the club get top four again then that is progress.

All the effort we have put in plus talent we have and you think getting 4th again is progress?

Yes of course why wouldn't it be the club can't go from zero to a hundred it's not realistic.
I have noted that we are going in the right direction surely that is enough for now?

Agree entirely, for all those who think that by splashing the cash will guarantee success just look at manure! Building a squad who will evolve into consistent PL contenders will take skill and time and a bit of luck, so get real and trust in those at the helm, and not all those who think they could do better than the professionals
Happy days Bob

I disagree. Of course its not realistic, but the thing is the club is not starting from zero. If Conte was to follow your stance, we would soon be watching as both Arsenal and Man Utd overtake us.

That's not what I said though is it I never mentioned utd or arsenal.
What I am referring to is that people will be disappointed if they think this season there will be a title challenge to compete against city and Liverpool.
We finished about 20 points behind so for me if we can bring that down to 10 point gap that is progress along with top four of course.

What does Conte want though? all the talk after the season ended was that he'd leave if we didnt show ambition to compete. and that he would be backed to do that like no other
so surely that would mean the goal of Conte at least is to challenge for the league or CL title.

Yes over the next couple of seasons surely that has to be the aim.

I bet the 'list' is a lot longer than 4 names. I think we're holding fire right now to see if Inter are forced to sell Bastoni in the next week.

Conte wants to challenge, that doesn't mean we expect to win it yet but we should be giving the top two a run for their money and 3rd should be the minimum aim this season IMHO. I don't think ENIC would have pumped in £150M if the aim was to just finish top four again.

I think the main thing is that ENIC have committed and are clearly trying to give Conte what he's asked for. He'll want to be challenging for sure and there are a whole load of variables that come into play every season on who actually ends up where. So far, it's looking pretty good this Summer though and I'm sure there's a few big moments to come.
