Tottenham are willing to sell Tanguy Ndombele for the right price this summer but will not be talked into cashing in if the fee involved does not match their expectations.

We bought Tanguy for 54m pounds. 5 year contract means his value on the books drops around 11m per season. After 3 seasons he is worth around 20m to us.
No doubt someone will bid if he is cheap enough. Probably be a fee plus add ons if we can get rid of him. Would take 15m now .
We were happy enough to virtually give Dele away but that was probably because he cost us 5m .

15-20m might work from an accounting view but from a football perspective its still going to be a massive L whatever we do sell him for having got next to nothing for the "11 mil per year" we've had him for.

Then add to that his wages...

Maybe so, but we can't do anything about that. It happens. There isn't a club that hasn't come unstuck at some point with an expensive signing. Arsenal seem to do it every season of late.

Absolutely, but wish we would just cut the losses asap so we aren't reminded of the ongoing expense/drain he has on our finances, and that we'll be able to avoid another similar situation as long as possible!

It's a pretty bad situation all round. We're stuck with a player we don't want on huge wages. He presumably wants to further his career elsewhere, but he'll struggle to do that if he won't drop his wages. We won't want to subsidise his wages elsewhere so it may be a bit of a stalemate. Worse case scenario, he'll be happy to sit on his arse on full pay til his contract expires.

If he is serious on wanting to play the game and Levy is willing to take a hit on the transfer fee, and agree a compromise on the remainder of hos contact then a transfer can get done.

It's going to cost the club, but it's going to cost Levy either way.

I could never understand the length of contract in the first place, and thank God that Hitchen is no longer at the club.

Don't forget he took a wage cut for his last loan, so he may be willing to do so again for a permanent move. If he has any sense and wants to resurrect his career then he will do.

Well of course that's going to be the official stance, but other teams aren't stupid. They'll know that 1) he's not in the manager's plans at all, and 2) we've currently got more players on our books than we can register.
