It's just not happening for Townsend. A loan or a move would be good for him, but talk of bringing in Bolasie puts my teeth on edge. There are much better options.

That would be his 11th loan, wouldn't it?

I think it's a shame he isn't getting more chances. He has match winning qualities (for England anyway).

Can't see it being a loan. I think he will go to Newcastle, Swansea or Leicester on a permanent deal.

I was so shocked when we turned down the £14m for him from Southampton, should of taken the money and ran. Has so much good attributes but just doesn't seem to have ever kicked on. Pity but just doesn't seem like its going to happen for him here.

He was in demand and worth more when on loan at qpr. We couldn't sell him last window by all accounts and I can see why. Maybe the thinking is that he might increase his value if he plays for someone else with a different style.

such a strange one --- does Andros just want it too much?
Plays better for England and seems under less pressure...maybe this shows what happens when you are a true fan of the club you are trying to make it with - would love him to turn it around at our club

Unfortunately there's no room for sentimentality. He's totally predictable now and easy to defend against. I don't know if he's doing what he's told or if it's all he has to his game, but whatever it is, it ain't working.

Townsend is his worst own enemy. Thick as wool...
Haha, whilst stated perhaps a tad indelicately, this is it really. Not a clever player. With his pace, a footballing brain would take him from looking like he's leaving the club for the benefit of the squad to a player we desperately try to hold on to as the usual sharks are circling to snatch him away from us.

Andros may have been underperforming for quite a while, but with Chadli out for a lengthy spell and Son also out with a dodgy injury I would like to keep him in the squad.
I would like to see him deployed on the left at times, and not on the right. It seems he has become a one-trick pony who cuts inside to shoot (to little avail), but maybe he would give us more width and good crosses from the left.

All he has to do is pass the ball more often. If I was Poc i'd ban him for shooting or he gets fined or something. Set up a few neuron pathways beyond the only one he appears to have. I think they call it Planet Hollywood in modern Neurology.

He's got something to offer, especially as he gets injured less than some of his rivals. It's not happening for him right now but if we can get the best out of him, he's an asset to the squad. One question will be what dies he want. If he insists on first team football then it may be the end, if he'll fight to be on the bench we should give him till the end of the season.

I'd wager the possibility of him wanting to leave is because he's not getting first team football and he probably wants to make sure he's going to the Euro's next summer.
