No amount of half time roasting could get Trippier o point for that match.

The only thing for it was to get Wanyama and Tripper off the field.

Then and only then we had a chance.

Wanyama was a passenger, so had to come off.
But Dier would be the safe, like for like replacement if he were fit and we didn't need 3 goals.
Brave call to bring on Llorente all the same, so full marks to MP.

Whisper it but Kane got more than his fair share of attention in a game he played no part in.
Tripps is trying to knit his England teammate into the story, but his mate should not get any plaudits here.

We've been better 2nd half over 90% of games this season. Not sure why, but I doubt it's teamtalks....

I agree with the sentiment, and since he didn't play he shouldn't get too much credit.

But it seems to check out, not only from Trippier, that he came in and had an effect. Sometimes you need someone to give it the Winston Churchill or Al Pacino treatment to rouse people out of their plodding acceptance of how things are progressing. And if this was it, then at least someone in the squad filled that void and we could use a few more.
