If first half of the session is stellar, are we better off leaving him there or doing like we did with Kyle Walker and giving him a loan at a better level second half of the season?

I think the question surrounding Parrott has seldom involved his actual ability but moreso his mental state and confidence in himself which took a huge hit last season. So for me having a whole season bullying league 1 defenders I reckon is more beneficial than taking a step up in quality which might carry some risk if he doesn't similarly hit the ground running. I think have an ego boosting season and see if we can get a prem loan next summer.

The thing is, in the games i saw him play for Ipswich, there was some top draw link up play and touches the only thing eluding him seemed to be the goals. It may have knocked his confidence in front of goal but his play around the box was still stellar.

Yep this is what I mean, I think it serves him more to just build up the confidence from bullying people because the technical quality is there and the fine tuning will come regardless so long as his confidence is there

He is so young i would take our time with him - give him the chance to do it over a season without having to move up a lvl and move to a new club

remembering how long HK took to show anything I think Troy is making good progress. Another season and he should be ready. He has two divisions to step up so I think January even will be too soon. I really hope he makes it to the top

Really pleasing to see that acceleration over the first five yards improving - reminds me of seeing how Kane became quicker as he developed.

If he continues in this vein then o think there is a very interesting discussion to be had in January. He will have an improved rep and confidence, so if we did want to put him up a league he might have a better chance of being first pic and the team setup to get the best out of him, which was maybe not the case at Millwall and early days Ipswich.

If he stays, he keeps banging them and that’s not a bad thing either. Good signs

There is almost zero chance of it happening but our 3 good young strikers, Etete, Parrott and Scarlett would be a really well balanced front 3.

Etete with his power and physical presence, Scarlett with his pace and Parrott with his ability to drop deeper.

Hopefully at least one of them can break into the first team and save us some money in the transfer market.

Watching MK Dons at home to Accrington. Not his best game so far. Seemed a bit off it from the start but got an assist just before half time. A little more in it now in the 2nd half.

Not great. Played right of a 343 but had licence to roam. Seem to be trying to get him to develop as a No.10, but I think he'd be better off higher up the pitch.

Can a player on a loan like this be recalled in January? Just curious. As I get the feeling is much further ahead in his physical development than Dane. I have no doubt Scarlett will be very good. But he is not even close to being physically ready to play at the pro level. Even watching him against Rennes he looked like a little child physically. Would rather see Parrott get these chances after four months of playing each week for MK Dons. Our striker depth is comically woeful.

I think it's a season loan and I wouldn't have thought we'd have put in a recall clause for January as I doubt we'd have envisaged needing him this season.
