Troy Parrott signed off on his successful stint at MK Dons with a goal in the club’s League One play-off semi-final second leg against Wycombe Wanderers. While the header ultimately wasn’t enough to get the Dons to Wembley, with Wycombe winning 2-1 on aggregate, the Republic of Ireland striker will have savoured finding the net in a match of such significance.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to him and Scarlett next year. Will they both get a loan? You could imagine that one will be kept close to the first team. Could well be Scarlett's turn for a loan. Depends on the summer business i guess.

Scarlett needs the loan imo. Troy either needs to start establishing himself in and around the first team or be sold, as he's out of contract next season IIRC.

I think you are right re: contract. Tricky one. I think there is a player in there. Like Markanday, it would be a shame to lose a decent prospect.

Indeed but that's the question I guess where do we think his ceiling is. Would he sign another contract knowing he was going to be loaned out again? I mean he's a full international now and needs to be playing, but is he good enough to get enough minutes with us to keep him happy? Had he not had the injury issues he's had we'd probably have a much clearer idea of just where he will fit, if he fits at all.

Personally I would like to see them both in the squad next season and given some game time in some cup matches or early EF matches. Scarlett probably could do with a loan if not playing but Troy I would like to see starting some matches. My worry is if you don't give these young guys some incentive they could be off and develop into very good or great players for someone else.

I'd like to see what Conte thinks of him during pre-season. Mentality and work-ethic wise he has turned it around and worked damn hard when he played for MK Dons.

The lad clearly has talent and appears to be able to play across the front three, which will benefit him for sure.

Hopefully Conte is impressed and includes him in the squad and he gets minutes in the cup games and even the odd league game here and there.

Scarlett I think needs to go out on loan to a League One side as I think the Championship may be a step too high for him at the moment.

Injury issues and full international or not, having 12 goals in 85 senior games is a lot less promising than Kane's level at that age, and people were saying then that he wasn't good enough.
I'm not saying that Troy needs to be as good as Kane, but he appears to not be showing the indictors of a player that is too good to be playing in League One.

Not as good as one of the worlds best forwards? Better sack him off I guess....

We can't keep both of them here and happy, just playing in a handful of early cup games. At least one if not both need to be loaned if there are no plans to give them Prem minutes.

All the recent interviews coupled with the noises coming from MK Dons are that he has matured alot and has recognised he needs to work harder and be more focused than he has been. It's a shame he didn't always have this attitude as he could be alot further on in his development than he is now but least he did recognise it and is still young enough to forge a good career even if not at top end of premier League

He scored a few at the start of the loan with MK Dons, but it hasn't been until the last month or so he has been getting on the score sheet regularly.

Etete or Parrot definitely look more physical ready for the PL than Scarlett.

I guess it depends on what we do in the summer transfer window.

And that's the sort of opinion you get just from looking at stats. Him not you.

I've seen him play plenty. He plays exactly like Janssen did for us; can hold up the ball, but doesn't particularly look like he has any of the required skills that would make him anywhere near breaking into the team.

It's abundant with young players. Troy developed early in his physicality which has helped him get this far, but I simply don't see him becoming a decent player, because that strength should also see him performing much better in the lower leagues. Look at the development any PL striker worthy of a top 6 side - he'd be a severe outlier based on his senior career so far.

The problem I see is when will we know if they are ready. Parrot for instance has a had a pretty good season at MK Dons and now with that experience I would like to see how he performs with us. In fairness we have spent a lot of money in recent seasons on "established" players that haven't work out why not give these guys a shot. Arsenal, West Ham and even Chelsea have integrated young talent quite successfully I would just like to see us do the same. Perhaps I'm being a bit nieve but it's worked for Kane after loan spells and even Skipp.

Will some of it depend on what European competition we qualify for as another factor?

He won’t get a sniff while we’re so reliant on Kane. Same for Scarlett. Also, every game is high stakes when we’re on the cusp of success. No players are allowed an error, I wouldn’t trust our online fans to back a youngster for long. Only thing we can do is strengthen elsewhere and maybe allow a little room in the team to develop a striker. Another load next season will be the decider I’d say.

Next you'll be telling me that people who say "I'm not a racist, but...." aren't actually racist.
