Surely all those people will sit in the home end. It's 17,000

If you’ve sat/stood in the east all your life and watched the game side on you won’t want to be sat behind the goal

Also half the atmosphere created at WHL was because you had 2 groups of supporters chanting in different areas of the ground

The worry is the new south stand will be a decent atmosphere and the other 3 sides of the ground will be like a morgue (or all like the old west stand!)

Saddened not surprised

I’m just waiting to see how quiet the new ground will be compared to the old ground and how many will be surprised by that!

I certainly won’t be

The capacity on the upper reaches of both East and West will still be affordable. As will most of the North and South. By afforable I mean, hopefully, £40ish for standard games, £55ish for elite games.

This was posted on COYS back in January:

Got a little bit of intel over the weekend for the season ticket situation at the new stadium:

  1. The club is hoping to launch the season ticket renewal process before March;
  2. Season tickets will be allocated based on longevity of your existing season ticket - i.e. if you've been a season ticket holder for 15-20 years+, you will choose your season ticket seat before someone that has taken on a season ticket for the first time at Wembley;
  3. The club intends to allocate seats based on similar seating arrangements to Wembley/historic to WHL;
  4. Spurs will be attacking towards the South Stand in the second half next season;
  5. The stadium is on schedule. The club expects to play the first 3-4 games away from home but that could change and we could kick off the season as planned if timings work out
Surprised they're going for that approach rather than loyalty points, which would prioritise people who didn't just get an ST this year anyway while rewarding those who turn up for the Rochdales, Tromsos and Qarabags.

I understand that people don't like having to pay more for their ticket but the East Stand was cheaper at WHL because it was an old stand with obscured views and didn't have the same facilities as the West Stand. If the East and West stands at the new stadium are going to be identical then of course they're going to be the same price. You can't charge two different prices for the same product it doesn't make any sense. Like I say, I understand why people are annoyed but the club are completely justified in doing it IMO.

Correct me if i'm wrong but arent loyalty points these days worked out over 4 seasons?

I reckon someone who's had a ST for 50 years should be allowed to choose their seat first in the new ground ahead of everyone else

Hopefully the south stand will have spaces available for members to buy and not all season tickets

This no player will be sold if Poch doesn't want them sold is almost bs. Lets say Alderweireld wants to stay and Poch wants him to stay. But Spurs cant match is salary. Toby is then upset and naturally shows his disappointment during training etc. Poch will then want him gone for that reason
So hows that bs then?
Do u expect us to be held to ransom?

If a guy is 50+ and gone to Tottenham his whole life, stood on the shelf and then stood/sat in the referbed east stand and is then told his ST has maybe doubled in price for the equivalent seat in the new ground do you think that is fair? d
Do you think he cares if the seat is a bit wider, more comfortable or that he can have a piss in 47 different toilets or get a mocha frappa lappa chappa chino?

Football is not black and white, or at least it shouldnt be. Its much more than a business. Look what Sullivan etc has done to West Ham, shocking

Erm, sorry, what? There's absolutely no way anyone can guarantee that.

Yeah its been agreed mate. If you are lucky enough to come and play at our new ground we tell you which way to kick and or we use a double sided coin or we take our ball home

It's absolutely fair. Like I say, I understand the frustration and all that but putting emotion aside and looking at it from a neutral perspective it's a much "better' product so why would the club sell it for the same price? It'd be one thing if it was still the old stadium and they just turn around one day and said "next season the tickets have doubled" but this isn't the same seat in the same stadium, it's a much better seat in the new stadium so of course it's more expensive. Whether he cares about it being better or not is neither here nor there. I'd be equally annoyed as you are if I had a ST in the East but that's because you're looking at it from a completely biased perspective.

As a counter-point, is it fair that someone in the West Stand would have to pay twice as much for the exact same seat as his opposite number in the East Stand for no apparent reason at all? I'd argue that would be even more unfair than both paying the same.

You say football's not a business but if you really think that you've been living in a daydream for the last 20-odd years. That ship has long since sailed.

Well that does seem fair, I'll admit.

Is there any chance we can tell them how many goals to score and concede as well? Because that would be even more fair.

I said it was much more than just a business. Unfortunately some either dont care or understand

I sit in the South stand but If I had been in the east all my life I'd be gutted hearing they will be paying West Stand prices now

As for those supporters who had always sat in the West Stand who would be upset they were paying a lot more than someone who'd always been in the shelf etc, fuck em

I'm sure that will be arranged in the future once there is no promotion or relegation and a European Super League run by the 20 richest men in the world. Cant wait

This is quite big news? So we dont need a naming rights partner for the stadium to open. There's not much rush then by the sounds of things.

MG asked for an update on naming rights. Many had been expecting an announcement now the stadium was progressing.
DL explained that the stadium financing was not conditional on selling naming rights. THFC are in discussions but they will only contract when they are satisfied with the price, the tenure and the counterparty.
DMC assured that the number required for commercials was in the business plan and the stadium financing meant it was not an essential for the stadium to open
Until such a time that a partner is found, the stadium will be referred to as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Calling it Tottenham Hotspur Stadium instead of White Hart Lane? Really? I mean, it will be sitting on the grounds of the Lane...

Once we have a naming rights partner, cant it just be *insert brand here* Stadium at White Hart Lane or something like that?

You cant say White Hart Lane in an american accent as well or easily as you can say welcome to The Tottingham Hotspurs Stadium

So if a highly debatable "injustice" is done to East Stand fans it's because the club are heartless and don't care, but if West Stand fans have a completely rational grievance then your response is "fuck em"? :rolleyes:

Would he expect to go cheaper if it was his local Odeon cinema which he had been visiting for years after it had been refurbed?
