TS's honesty misread as slyness

Over the last few weeks I have begun to think that the amount of dishonesty and ambiguity (especially in manager's press talks) has become so so 2nd nature that we as fans looked at Sherwood as devious and manipulative to get to his position now by speaking his mind to Levy and others behind the scenes.

But for me it is a well appreciated breath of fresh air to have a manager (especially as it's ours!) to be so honest and straight talking to the media and us fans. I believe he would have done no different behind the scenes. Even if he perhaps did whisper in Levy's ear "I can do this job better than AVB" you know what? I don't care. I think he probably truly did believe that, and fucking fair play for him having the balls and honesty to stand up and say that and step up to the plate now; despite me liking AVB as a person.

That's my recent onions. Love the honesty, keep it up Timmy and here's hoping others with previous reservations about you will rally behind you and the team and stop saying "I will judge TS when we hit a rough patch"....what kind fucking winning mentality is that!! Peace and COYS!

What do you guys think?

I think it's just that he reminds me of Harry & personally despite the good job he did I was sick to the back teeth of the sound of his voice by the end.
Added to the fact he came in with no managerial experience I think it's only fair to have reservations.
Of course I am happy to be proved wrong & will always support the team & this means giving tim a fair go.
I think his slightly slippery reputation/aura means that as you say some things he says as an honest answer or a bit of humour are probably being taken a little apprehensively at the moment.
If he continues to average 2 points + per game I'm sure this will fade though!

What's not in question is that we are certainly in better shape now than before he took over so fair play to him so far. I'm not sure that all is rosy in the garden but at least he's got us scoring again & in with a shout of top 4.

I like Tim, but being honest is easy when you're winning. Thing I like most is he is different to the "motivator" / "tactition" seesaw we've been on, Tim seems to be nicely balanced.

Right, so when he claimed that Arsenal did not outnumber and dominate our midfield at the Emirates he was being truthful?

Because only Stevie Wonder would have believed him.

I think it will be hard for him to shake of the reputation because of the Harry connection and his membership of the cockney spivhood through that association and the percived view and probable misconception that he was politicking behind AVB's back.

To be honest AVB dug his own grave with his formations and general approach to the game.

OK, so Tim stood up when AVB was shafted and said 'give me a go, Guv'. What's wrong with that? It wasn't like AVB was off to the khazi for a minute or two innit? He was out the bleeding door.

Have to admit I did like it when he was asked about the push on bony and he candidly admitted it was a push.
I suppose it's easier to be candid when you have 16 from 18, and had just won that particular match, but I liked it.

I dont get how people find his voice annoying, we're a LONDON club.

I like Tim.

Have no problem with his voice (AVBs voice was like nails on a chalkboard in comparison) or his accent. Did have a problem with him ending with "innit?" in every sentence in the first video interview I saw him in after his appointment. He sounded a bit clueless because of it. He hasn't said it in his later interviews or PCs I've seen, at least not as frequently as I haven't noticed it so I don't have a problem with that anymore.

His evil, black heart is the reason I distrust him. Not his voice or accent, both of which are A-OK.

This has nothing to do with his managerial ability anyway.

Come on dude. Really. You don't hear a foreign manager say "uhhh" ever other word and assume they are clueless so why would you when a Londoner says "innit". It's just dialects and regional variations of the English language. Simples. Innit?

And I liked it when he said that he had not won 5 away on the trot and that avb deserved part of the credit. He hasn't come up with anything remotely comparable to, say, Harry's 2 points from 8 games mantra. TBH, I find the similarities between him and H quite superficial.

I remember feeling equally appreciative of AVB when he quite rightfully ctiticised our home support.

I have no doubt in my mind such honesty accelerated his exit.

I find Sherwood far too illiterate to even understand, but from a results/performance perspective we are doing very well. That is all I care about from now on.

He can say what he wants in press conferences etc if we continue to pick up 16 from 18 points.

When did he credit AVB?

Sky failed to acknowledge his input in to the run whatsoever during the game.

Preeeeeeety sure I didn't mention his managerial ability in the original post mate. And stop overreacting lol, "his black heart". You sound insane. Do you realise that? You need to be medicated.
Are you a member of TOWIE? You're clearly stupid enough.

Interesting points mate. I hadn't heard him say that, that's really good to hear.
The initial comparisons are inevitable but you could well be onto something and I'm quite happy for him to prove my initial doubts wrong. I'm easily won over with results. If we had won the fa cup game I'd already be a fully paid up member of the TS fan club! If being cynical I could say that he will know how much the 2 points from 8 games, self praise etc grated on fans so he's deliberately taking a different approach but Levy is an articulate and intelligent business man who was burned by Harry so I guess he wouldn't rate tim so highly if there wasn't much more to him than meets the eye. That's my hope anyway.

To be fair you did ask what people thought, no point throwing insults when you don't like the answer. It's just an opinion.

He definitely did - in his interview. He was asked about the five consecutive away wins and he said something like...half that's down to Andre...
