Can confirm Reading are preparing a bid for Spurs striker Jermain Defoe. Royals got big plans for next season.

For what its worth, he did get a recent Spurs story spot on fairly early. Might of been the Gylfi Siggurdson deal.

If Reading want our very own horny Jermaine, I'd think Levy would make 'em pay a significant premium. He may as yet feature in AVB's plans, as the right sided player who cuts in to score.

I have to admit, Defoe's penchant for blasting the ball goalwards when it could have been better passed is frustrating. But he did score some great, and important goals. The two at Wolves in 2011/12 were particularly enjoyable!

I have always thought he should be tried in this position, it makes no sense not to give it a go.

Have we not signed someone else yet? Jesus Christ, it's been two fucking days!

Edited - finally on the crawling, dying server - due to my crapness and this and that and everything else.

I really can't see Defoe playing as a right sided forward, if anything he would have more hope of doing it from the left enabling him to cut inside, shift and ram it as hard as he fucking can :)

Where would Moutinho fit in our system if bought?

Would it be something like this?

Sandro (DM) Moutinho (Deep Plying Playmaker)

Van Der Vaart Modric Bale

Ade

Check my sig or the AVB formation thread on this one. Moutinho would be Modric's replacement. If we keep Modric then no need for Moutinho at all.

Well it does make some sense. For one VDV is far more suited to that role as he showed last season. Also we don't have the luxury of messing around trying things out this season. We need to hit the ground running and that means playing players in the positions they know.

ur sig would be my dream spurs team for the new season and imo is very realistic with that team i think we would be in the title race and it wouldn't cost that much with us selling luka for big money and selling all our deadwood would make up for almost all our money we would give

Yeh i need to come up with a new striker really as back-up/rotation with Ade and take Ganso out, but yeh i don't think it's too far off realism and also a potential title wining team. :)
