Could be likely as barca will probably get rid of their african players in their academy now Rosell is president

And maybe talent from their worldwide academy as they will be closing, who knows maybe the next messi

Which horse's mouth ? Think this is just a rumour again.

There's absolutely no way that Levy would risk undermining Harry by putting in a DOF/Sporting Director. I was under the impression that the academy was all staffed up. If anything we would want him for his contacts and talent-spotting skills

Presumably this will happen on Friday? (To be clear, this can and will be any one of the many Fridays left between now and John Bostock's retirement from the game at age 38 in 2030.)

Dude, i seriously doubt this came from the mouth of a horse - i've tried pronouncing them both and can't, don't believe a horse has better diction than me

Didnt out club secretary leave recently? This guys is a technical secretary, is that more in line with the role he might have been offered at spurs, instead of technical director or Director of football?

Cant see levy doing somehing to destabalise Harrys position...

Isn't this the dude with all the contacts? I seem to remember him being mentioned in the same press releases as Bojan, Ronaldinho, Messi etc... I think he was one of the guys who helped define Barcas philosophy.

It's to replace John Alexander isn't it?

It's not a Commoli.

Club Secretary is a non-footballing role, surely, responsible for compliance with stock market and government regulation. Txiti is a footballing person, right? So not replacing John Alexander?

Alexander has already been replaced.

Source: Official Site

The Club is delighted to announce that Darren Eales will be joining the Club at the end of the season when Club Secretary, John Alexander, leaves to take up his new position at Manchester United. Darren joins us from West Bromwich Albion Football Club.

Darren started his professional career as a footballer playing in the USA in the A-League following a collegiate career in the Ivy League. He graduated in Economics at Brown University before returning to London and qualifying as a Barrister after reading law at Cambridge University. Darren spent 6 years as a Barrister in private practice dealing with sports, media and employment areas of law. In 2006 he joined West Bromwich Albion where he holds a wide-ranging role encompassing the responsibilities of Club Secretary, Board Director and Legal Director.

Daniel Levy, Chairman, said, "We are delighted that Darren has agreed to join the Club. He brings with him excellent skills and a broad experience which will serve us well at a time when we are delivering a state-of-the-art new training facility."

If he is. I know nothing about Txiti.

Didn't someone resign from us recently? Wasn't it Alexander? It was merely a suggestion, plugging the resignation with this appointment.

Considering how Levy has come out and said (somewhere ...) that the biggest reason behind our success has been scrapping the DoF system and giving the manager control it would seem very off colour to appoint someone to completely contradict that.

Well I've now held my nose and read that Daily Mail article and it would completely seem like he's a Commoli.

That's very odd. Hopefully he'll be shunted well away from first team affairs. In the same way Chelsea shunted Arnesen away.
