A cyclist won the weekend's Track Cycling World Cup despite getting a 9-inch splinter through his leg.
Azizulhasni Awang got back on his bike after the four-bike crash on the final bend at the Manchester Velodrome on Saturday night.
He finished third in the Keirin final, picking up a bronze medal and doing enough to win the overall Track Cycling World Cup title.
Writing on Twitter yesterday, Awang said: "Operation done. splinter taken out cleanly. Alhamdulillah..thanks for the prayer n support (sic)."
Awang will miss the rest of the season because of the injury but hopes to return in time for the 2012 Olympics.
