My guess is Fergie will have to sell before he buys. According to an SSN report they have a 33 man first team squad that he is struggling to finalise down to 25. Players like Hargreaves won't make the cut this time round but still, they can't bring in someone like Ozil, without dropping someone like...Nani, Obertan or dare I say...Carrick?

Been a member there a few years, low post count. Has posted one thing before and that was this window about Richards. I think he over dramatises it but wouldn't rule it out.

If we have been in for him since before the WC and he has known about our long term interest then that could be something in our favour.
He may not have the same expectations of £120k a week wages that would scupper a deal either. I'm sure we could possibly treble what he is currently on as a young player at a club like Werder Bremen and still not shatter our wage structure.
He'd be one of, if not the main star at our club and (as much as it pains me to say it) still have a move in 2 or 3 seasons time to one of the giants of the game.
There's obvious positives for us but also for him. Good move for both partiies and I would love it if we could pull it off.
A player of his potential though, I just worry that if the likes of Bayern, United, Barca etc come knocking with any real decisive bid then we've probably had it.
I wonder if Levy would bend the wages a little for such a big signing?
