Definitely well in the race for him. Lyon's bid rejected, will take 12 million euros to get him, but we are pushing this one. We wanted to wait, but due to Lyon's interest we may have to do the deal this window

Update:

Lyon reps gone home, Spurs favourites, great relationship with Dinamo, possible deal with Lovren staying there till the summer.

Have no knowledge of the player but I understand he can play a few positions across the back. Being croatian and a ex/zagreb player it can only be a bonus.

Never seen him play but the reports are good. Love the Croatian guys we have, they all have an excellent work ethic and a technical grounding that sets them a little apart. If this young lad is anything like those lads then I'd be happy to bring him in as we will be looking for more central defensive cover with Ledley and Woodgate playing bit part roles.

My good Croatian mate (big Dinamo fan/former youth player) loves the kid. Sounds like a future star of the highest order.

Also reckons Pletikosa is 'not very good' for what it's worth.

Quality stuff. Makes sense about leaving him there until summer, but I wonder if we'd rather have him now?

Still, great option for next season.

Maybe we are looking at him to replace Ledley/Woody in the long term, so are happy not to take him till the summer.

The only thing it makes no sense for Dinamo to keep him there until the summer (if a deal were to be made now). They are clear favourites to win the league (yet again), they were eliminated from Europe (which was their main priority), and keeping him would stop them from using the time to bed in another (probably young) defender.

That part I fail to grasp and is a contradiction to what has come out of Dinamo just days ago (that they would not "warm up" a player for another club).

I think the issue is that if he comes to spurs now he wont get any playing time. I think we will find he will be the long term replacement for King (who I think will not be a spurs payer at the end of season 2010/2011 I'm afraid) + woody.

Then possibly he could sign then we'd loan him to a side lower down the league or in the Champs to get used to English footy?
