Sheff Utd's RB is the other Kyle - Walker - also on loan from Spurs.

Walker can play CB, but it looks like £8 million of Spurs players will be competing to be RB for mid-table Championship club Sheff Utd.

Having said all that, Naughton has played hardly any football this season, and I agree that it would good for him to go on loan and get some more competitive football.

If this ITK is true, it also suggests that Micah Richards to Spurs could be happening, and that we'll sell Alan "the white Cafu" Hutton to the highest bidder. We'll also probably make a loss on Hutton, which won't please Levy...

Thought Naughton looked quite good in pre-season, shame he hasn't got much of a run.

Could also be linked to Basson not going to the ACN, therefore Corluka isnt needed as a centre back (or direct CB cover) and Hutton will not be required as much

To be honest, I dont know why he wasnt sent on loan sooner

Kyle Walker is out with a long term injury.

IMO Redknapp is happy with Corluka and Hutton and the two Kyles will spend the next 18 months on loan in the Championship before being released. If either substantially improves in that time then Hutton may be ready to be moved on instead of one of them if he's not playing that much.

Hutton's also not going to be let go of during this window because of his ability to play at LB while BAE is away.

I wrote this a few weeks ago (http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1649142#post1649142).

Apparently Redknapp has never particularly fancied the pair of them according to club/family sources in Sheffield. Something dodgy went on there :-|

I think its bullshit, I can't see Harry putting up with Levy buying players he doesn't want.

However I am pissed off that we spent 8 million on a pair of defenders that we haven't used and are not good enough.

If indeed they are not good enough but there's no real reason to suppose that though Mullers, Walker has been top notch for the Blades this season and Corluka has made the RB slot hs own for us.

We have paid next to nothing for these 2 players. It would reach £8m if they both play loads of games. The original fee is around £3m for the pair. Never doubt Levy with the finances.

I wouldn't argue with that at all!

I only suppose that because they are not currently at the club, sometimes Hutton has been playing instead of Corluka. With BAE going to the ANC, surely that would be a good time to blood Naughton seeing as he can play left back.

Debatable. He played 2 or 3 games there for Sheff U at the very end of last season when Gary Naysmith was out injured. He wasn't especially comfortable there and it would be a huge risk at this level which Naughton isn't even close to being ready for in his preferred RB position.

Redknapp also played Hutton at LB, rather than Naughton, when they lined up together in the CC this season.

I'm with others in the "Naughton looks pretty promising" camp. Harry has a great record of sending out players on loan:

Defoe, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand.

I thought Naughton was moved to left back to accommodate Walker. So altogether we have 4 right backs at the club. :-|

Walker came in to the side at that point, but it was only because of Naysmith's injury.

IIRC Walker only ever 5 games for Sheff U (before this loan back) - the last 5 of the season. He'd been on loan at Northampton in League One for most of the season.

Injuries brought him into the side though, rather than him tearing up trees in the youth team.
