I don't think there was much doubt that Hoofharted was ITK on Darren Bent, so this may have some legs...

Bent would surely be suicidal if they signed Keane to upgrade on him!

Would be stupid letting Hutton go after those two recent performances of his, especially with Naughton seemingly heading back to Sheff U. And Kaboul is even worse at RB than he is at CB. Hutton has a big role to play this season for us, especially when Lennon's out.

Can't see either leaving tbh.

I don't think Bent had that many mates at the club when he was here, so I doubt either Keane or Hutton are still in contact with him now.

Firstly I could say the opposite, and it would be just as likely to be true - i.e. who knows?

Secondly, he could have seen Hutton with his own eyes at the training ground, Quinn/Bruce may have asked him for a character reference, seeing as he played with Hutton for some time, or Hutton himself may have called him to ask what Sunderland is like.

I remember you being anti-Hoofharted, but on anything Bent related I think he is worth a listen.

His best mates were transferred out to Sunderland by Ramos, before he went there...

Can't really see why Bruce would want to sign Keane.
Keane & Bent was hardly our golden age and Bruce always seems to like having a traditional target man type upfront.

Don't understand the loan deal mooted for Hutton to Sunderland and Naughton to 'Boro. We have gone from having a job lot of RBs to one. Surely we need to keep one or the other as cover for Charlie and to offer pace alternative - particularly in the absence of Lennon.

Kaboul was decent at RB for Portsmouth, maybe Harry thinks he will provide good cover for Charlie....

I think with BAE and Corluka, we have two safe options and with Bale and Hutton, we have to attacking options. With Lennon injured, I would keep all four backs.
