I can't think why. Unless Redknapp/Levy fancy making a few sly bucks in the summer/next Jan.

In my humble - and utterly made up, I should say - opinion, this is the very old and deeply established tactic called "Player about to sign for Club X but hit final technical problem/question so Agent brings up interest in Club Y"

Not that Archibald hasn't heard correctly, I just wonder if the original rumour isn't from a naughty source.

Agree with the naughty (sounds like Danny bloody Dyer) source theory - no disrespect to the ITKs at all... I love them.

It ALMOST sounds like someone has taken a dart and aimed at the article with all the players with six months left on their contract, posted on the here the other day... and passed it on to Archie.

That said, it wouldn't be the worst buy and would indicate that JOH and/or Jenas could be off, or the Sandro deal isn't going to happen till the summer, as has been suggested elsewhere.

Maxi's a winger, he would be back up for Lennon I would imagine, and not be too happy about it either.

lennon is out for awhile, according to harry last interview and maybe its just a short term thing, we will miss lennon immensley and without him i fear of us getting into that toip4 place, he causes so many issues with his pace, and he is our one and only true supply of anything down the wings, i dunno much about ridriguez is he fast like lennon?

Maxi plays left wing too so he'd be a more capable backup for both wings than bentley. Good player.

I can't really see it. Is he even necessary and do we really want to risk the dynamics of our current squad with a guy who is going to want to play every week? Not for me.

The fact that he hasn't played well since the last World Cup (and before that really, he had a huge injury which set him back no end) would put me off. I wouldn't take him ahead of any of Modric, Kranjcar or Lennon, he hasn't played in the middle since he was about 20 and we don't play 451. Can't imagine he'd be on our radar.
