I could see us changing targets and moving Modric back out wide left if Cole doesn't come. Not sure Parker would be my choice if we changed targets but I could see if from Harry.

Personally with this Bellamy talk and changing targets to Parker I reckon it is unlikely now that we will sign Joe Cole, I have a suspicion his wage demands are too large.

Good point.
I think the only time it would have been worth buying Parker was when he was at the height of his game at Charlton.

I don't think he would be a horrible player to bring in, especially if we are going to a 4-2-3-1 where we have two holding midfielders, him and Palacios together would be pretty damn hard to break down in the center. Would give Palacios free reign to go all over the park chasing down the ball as he knows Parker would be there for protection.

Problem with this is we don't have the lone striker to make the 4-2-3-1 work but if we got that I wouldn't be against something like this.

Corluka Dawson King Bale

Palacios Parker

Lennon Modric Bellamy

Fabaino or Dzeko would be nice

We would also have a better rotation as Sandro and Huddlestone could fill in for Palacios and Parker or vice versa depending on who Harry likes best. Don't get me wrong I am not in favor of Parker coming in, especially not on a huge transfer fee but I could see what Harry is thinking. Same goes for Cole for that matter but I just haven't heard many people saying the problems that come along with Cole so it seems like I am anti Cole and pro Parker when it would probably be the way around if I was managing but I am just playing devil's advocate with Cole and I don't really have to do that with Parker.

Parker is poo.

Parker is not poo, as you so elequently put it.

He was by far and away Whams best player last season and by all accounts the only player who gave 100% whenever he tried.

He was very very unlucky to not make the England 23, and we may ahev actually done better with him in the team.

I do not know if he is right for us now, but I would'nt be upset if he did sign.

No, neither do I.

But, as per my original post (and the one you quoted should really have been read in conjunction with it). He is a decent player, but he is gonna be pretty much wanting to start every game at this stage in his career (kinda like a midfield Keano). But I have to be honest and say I really do believe if I was picking our match day squad next season and I had Parker available (with no injuries), he wuold proabably be lucky to make the bench. And I don't mean that in an anti-Parker way. Just an honest assessment.

I doubt he would settle for that...and I strongly doubt Dan Levy would settle for shelling out the type of money the Spammers would want for him, under these conditions.

Noodles who doesn't post ITK anymore (on purpose) said a few months ago that Parker can't play more than 70 minutes of a game (I forget why but I think it was knees like Ledders). If that's the case why would be interested?

Noodles!! There's an ITK blast from the past!

So he should be lauded for actually "trying" to do what he gets paid extremely handsomely for? Well whoopty-doo, the rest of West Ham squad made him look good by to a man being a pathetic excuse for footballers.

I would actually pick Jenas over him anyday of the week.

I stand by my evalulation - he is poo, and not a particularly satisfying poo at that.

He really isn't and it is a pretty childish way of criticising a player with no real evidence to back it up.

Parker can fuck off. He had his chance on more than one occasion to sign for us and turned us down.

He can fucking rot in hell with the pikies as far as I am concerned.

I know there have been a lot of changes at the top at West Ham, but not long ago they said they would never sell another player to us. That person may have left, but pretty sure one of Statler and Waldorf said that Parker was the only player they wouldn't sell to anyone.

I know, but sometimes one just can't be bothered writing an endles treatise as to why player X or Y is rubbish. He is incredibly average then, much like Upson and Green, infact the 3 of are like Coldplay without Chris Martin, a complete non-entity. Is that that better than my slightly frivelous "poo" calling?

It doesn't add much to the debate though really. I think he is a really good player, though clearly he is not an alternative to Joe Cole- but neither role is really 'needed' but both would be good opportunistic signings to beef up the depth and competition in the squad.

Saying he is shit, which is obviously not true, makes me wonder why you bothered posting anyting at all. Waste of a post.

Maybe the endless Joe Cole debating left me mentally fatigued, I dunno. I do think he is shit, or average, just not good enough for us - delete as you feel appropriate.

He reminds me of Tim Sherwood - someone who uses bluster, "trying hard" to make up for a lack of footballing intelligence and average technique. Not what I want to see in the centre of the park for us.

I agree with this to some degree... Parker looked good last season as he was the only player in that side who actually gave a damn, so looked miles better than he actually is due to the dreadful players around him.
