Georgia and Ohio State are 17 pt favorites over #11 Oregon and #5 Notre Dame. Looks like another one sided CFB season.

Well on the bright side, Clemson is coming off a "down year" where they (checks notes).....got 10 wins, had the #7 defense (#2 in scoring defense) in America (with 3 projected 1st rounders in the lineup), that went 8-1 from (averaging 28-13 games) October onward and added the #1 QB prospect in America.....and they are only ranked #4.

College football has always lacked parity but.....it really feels like there are about 5 teams you need to pay attention to anymore.

And now with a 12 team playoff the Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State group can actually lose games and still end up in the playoff. Wonder if they will start practicing "load management" for their kids.

I hope you all are watching Iowa and South Dakota St go back and forth. It's 5-3 in the 4th quarter...

Can't get my head around having your biggest game of the season as the season opener!

On the other hand, glad to see Baylor keeping up the SWC/Big-12 tradition of scheduling a small school to get blasted in their opener.

I'm sure Albany coming off a 2-9 season in the FCS will put up a huge fight against the #10 ranked Baylor Bears. Hoping Albany pulls a miracle App State against them.

I stand corrected.....

Clemson are absolutely in a down cycle.

Their is unbelievably good with a ton of talent on it. Their offense is......bad, just.....real bad. They can't block, DJ-U is slow and can't make decisions and the running game is hampered by the aforementioned bad oline and piss poor qb play.

Clemson vs Iowa would be the most painful game i could think of to watch.

Agreed. They remind me of '03-05 Miami, great defense with absolutely no offense.

Unless there is a remarkable turnaround with their offense I could see them potentially going 9-3 which is mad considering the talent at their disposal.

Paying $1.25m for Marshall to come and play in South Bend.....and lose. oof
At least ND fans can say they paid Marshall less than what A&M and Nebraska paid Appalachian State and Georgia Southern.

If true, then ASU's done for. No in-demand coach or player is going to touch them now.

Not a lot of in-demand coaches or players were heading for ASU anyway, especially with the collapse of the Pac 12

Where's @Chattaben? Your Vols are finally good.
I think we are better but not good enough to compete for the East.

Our offense is great but I'm afraid that our strategy is only to score more than the other guy. At some point, the defense has to make stops. There was only 1 punt in the entire game yesterday and FL was like 5/6 on 4th downs. FL's coach made some head scratching decisions that helped us too. Going for 2 twice and not getting either one was the difference at the end of the game between kicking a field goal for a OT and having to score a TD to win.

If we can win in 2 weeks in Baton Rouge, then I might be more confident. I can only hope that they make is a day game and not a night game. Playing under the lights in front of a rowdy Death Valley crowd is not something I think this team is ready to do.
