We are delighted to announce the signing of Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg, subject to international clearance and work permit.

The defender has signed a contract with the Club that will run until 2029, and will wear the number 37 shirt.

Not into these high shirt numbers- what’s wrong with 2 or 16??

Are the official numbers for the league? Or ones just been given for now?

I know before some pre season games they said numbers won't be correct for pre season to the league so don't buy shirts with that number on.

It reads as though these are official and being that they won’t be featuring in any preseason games I can’t see why they would change them

Saw a tweet earlier that said it was the number of minutes he laughed when he heard that arsenal were interested in him. 🤣

I don't know anything about him but the profile sounds great - speedy, left-sided CB, good age, some good experience from two leagues.

Let's have some patience and leeway with him - I know, probably laughable - since he's going to be asked to play a riskier strategy than recently by squeezing the play high up the field.

And let's get some players out the door now. The squad is a mess of too many players and their careers are dwindling if they don't move on to get game time elsewhere.

At last a footballer who can defend and play the ball, him and Romero will form a great partnership.
