Don't watch videos on yt as often misleading. Is he like bunje? Who got a lot of stick although I quite liked him. But he wasn't a success. He was seen as a ball playing defender. Are we overhyping this guy? Who's seen him play? Snarf? Anybody?
The good news is that he can do those things in the videos. But we'll have to see how often he has the chance in EPL games. He needs to get some confidence first and create a good relation and synchronization with his teammates. I watched him as a Steaua fan and his defensive game is pretty solid. You can't pass him on 1on1 that easy because he's agile. He likes to move up with the ball but I think he will be more cautious at first and will let loose when he will feel confident and accustomed with his teammates.

Vlad is starting tonight in the decisive match against Hungary. They have some nice firepower upfront: Dzsudzsak, Koman, Szalai, Hajnal, so Vlad should be tested a lot. The match is starting in 20min if you are interested to watch Vlad.

Chiriches just went steaming upfield and did a Ronaldo chop.

He's going to be great fun/terrifying to watch.
Yeah, gave me a scare. He was bored because he didn't had the chance to move up.

Edit: He was cheeky in the second half also. He was the last defender and dribbled 4 opponents who where pressing him and the last one pushed him so a foul was given. He's mental!
Bottom line, the Romanian team had a solid game (3-0 for us), Chiriches included with a couple of crucial interventions. I liked the other CD better, Dorin Goian, won all the headers and dominated Szalai which is a big and strong striker (Glasgow Rangers fans loved Goian because he's a beast, made for the British style).

Now I'm only going by the youtube videos but he does seem unusually strong on the ball for a CB. Given this but also the fact that he is a good defender, tall and quick, could he we not also do an Ivanovic on him and turn him into a full back (but that is versatile to play anywhere along the back if needed)?

I really like Ivanovic and would love to see us try that with Chiriches.

I think we could see him at RB quite a bit despite having Naughton there. I think Chiriches would be another player that fits the streamlined squad theme very well given he could obviously function as a starting CB but he's also got the skillset to possibly be an above average RB and defensive midfielder. I'm really excited about it and I'm looking forward to seeing how he might be utilized moving forward.

He looks like he has the potential to go right to the top, maybe needs to take fewer risks in front of his goal but not so much that he becomes a different player. Him and Super Jan could probably pass teams to death on their own, just go 1-0 up and let them play one twos at the back :D

Vlad is starting again tonight (that's kind of a given, being the captain now) in the other capital match against Turkey. If we win or even a tie can assure us of the 2nd place. Match starts in 15min. So, Go Chiri! Go Romania!

I'd love Romania in the World Cup! More Spurs players to watch the better. :D
