I have been to the new Wembley a fair few times now - and its a terrible place to watch football - the atmosphere is awful people are up and down every five minutes - its basically a non football- football ground. f. Plus from North London its a pig to get to and there is no parking to speak of It will be even more soulless if its half empty sadly though there aren't many other options surely Milton Keynes is just an unfunny joke

I have been watching Spurs since the mid seventies now, have held a season ticket since the early eighties and probably missed a handful of home games since then. But its habitual once people start missing a few games and you can watch matches on the laptop or down the local pub and you haven't had to fork out the best part of a grand which may increase by the time we move its not as straight forward as saying we have a shiny new home everyone will go back and all those on the season ticket list will suddenly lump up money for a season ticket.

I personally think its going to be a difficult transition the crowd at Tottenham is an old crowd and I think Mr Levy might not have the uptake he expects but perhaps that's what the club wants as its much more lucrative to have people turn up 3 or 4 times a season buy a package and throw lots of money at the Spurs shop and in a shiny bar in the ground

You want to try to get to WHL from east Kent on a Thursday around Xmas, getting past Blue Water, Dartford Crossing and Lakeside traffic?? Wembley has several tube stations, leave your car at home.

Even by tube from North London and beyond it means going in to go out - and that will be the case for a large majority of our support that comes from North London and beyond in the Herts borders - for a midweek game kicking off at 8 your struggling to get the last train by the time you have got out of Wembley queued for ages to get into the tube station and struggled back across London its just a pig of place

As for struggling to get to Tottenham that's your choice that's where the football club is - I still hold out hopes that the Olympic Stadium might happen as its so much bloody easier for everyone

Wembley is a shit place to watch football lacking in atmosphere and just a totally corporate designed experience with so few people bothered about watching the actual game for large sways of the match about a third of it is empty

It's because Club Wembley occupies the central banks of sets either side of, and above the tunnel so at half time all the suits and Club Wembley members who are entitiled to attend most Wembley games according to their purchase, are still in the bar at least ten minutes in to the second half.
It would be different if the seats were llocated to minimise this situation as well as partisan support at either end as per club cup finals.

Yeah, because when I took the decision to move my family from Chingford to Margate my journey to see the Spurs was right at the top of the list. Don't knock people for having a shit journey to the ground.
Anyway, Wembley is a tickle really from east Kent. High speed to Stratford and Jubilee line to Wembley Park.

Mate that's just one part of the ground - my experiences of the new Wembley is that people are up and down all through the game and people start leaving early and the ground is half empty for huge parts of the game

Its a crap place with no concern tor the football fan its a corporate shell of a ground

Last season at the final the Spurs end was empty with ten minutes to go - the people on our row turned up with about ten minutes gone with coke etc went down 10 minutes before half time for a hot dog came back 5 minutes late for the second half and left 15 minutes before the end and from what I could see they weren't the only ones

15 years we've been here. I know you jest but in all honestly it's the best move I ever made. I love living down here (I'm not actually in Margate but if I'd typed Westbrook no one would've known where it was) and you couldn't pay me enough to move back.
Benborn Bros was what Dreamland was called for a while. It's been shut for years but has reopened now. Been a very busy summer thank goodness.

To be honest Chingford has gone down hill since they closed the dog track - generally everyone I know has long left Tottenham and the surrounding districts though you probably couldn't afford to live in Chingford or Walthamstow now as they are very much up and coming

I used to like day trips to Margate mind you haven't been for years

Its a soulless shithole of a ground that's bloody awful to get to from North London - very sad we can't sort out the Olympic Stadium
Wembley though at least isn't Milton Keynes which is probably one of the few things going for it

Can I ask where in north London you'll be making the journey from?.It only use to take me 25-30min to get to whl from Neasden, it was a cake walk. The Olympic stadium will be the most soulless stadium in London, it'll make wembley sound hostile

Mate I have actually moved recently but come in from Enfield - Neasden is just down the road you could walk to Wembley

Not sure about the OLympic Stadium I still think we missed a trick there if I am honest - the atmosphere there during the Olympics was superb I was working inside the stadium at below ground level and the whole location and grounds are terrific - I know its not a football ground and that's a potential pain but the viewing angles are far superior to Wembley imo plus its a great place to get to from North London and Herts where a lot of Spurs support comes from

But as we say that particular bird seems to have flown

Would prefer from Wembley from SW London. Would be a simple train ride from Clapham Junction to Wembley Central.

I don't think moving to Wembley would be a good idea.

it will be half empty for most of the games,

eams will raise their game playing there too

It would be very 'Spursy' if we didn't get to use Wembley too. I mean, we lost out to Wet Spam over the Olympic stadium, and now could lose out to the Chelscum over Wembley...It wouldn't be a shocker if we did. I feel as though the footballing authorities just have it in for us.

Just in case it wasn't obvious to everyone on here - I read an article that Wembley couldn't be filled for regular PL games in any case, the max capacity for PL games being hosted there cannot exceed approx. 50,000. So filling it (the capacity allowed) isn't really an issue afaia.

You mean they've planned to limit seating for 50k? Why would they do that, it's like buying a Renault Espace and never have a passenger along for the drive?

Of course it would be half empty. I think the deal would have an enforced attendance cap of 40,000

Just find it annoying. Not saying people are wrong but its just an irritation.

What team do you support?

The Spurs.

Who does Harry Kane play for?

The Spurs

Who plays at White Hart Lane?

The Spurs

Who are the bestest ever football team of all time ever?

The Spurs

What is that jangling sound I hear when you walk?

The Spurs.

"Up the Spurs"
