The double, anyone?

Our best start since the 1960/61 season.

First thing tomorrow I'm putting money on Spurs to win the double, you never know. We started the season at 100/1 and before kick off today we were down to 40/1. I wonder what odds we are now.

I read yesterday that it was also the last year Burnley beat Man Utd 1-0 in the league...

what a diffeence a year makes. This time last year I was well in the dumps, crying my bloody eyes out and acting a real jerk ( again appologies to anyone I offended last year, it was out of character). Harry you are the master !!!! Glad to Defoe back, I think that really depressed me him leaving ! Anyway onwards and upwards and well done England winning the Ashes !!!

Eek So, in a week we've gone from 100/1 to 36/1. Is 'Arry Jesus?

Or are the bookies pretty bloody encouragingly fallible?

I wonder how much time their analysts have to devote to each team? And whether they have to follow procedures over being able to respond to idiosyncracies sometimes ? Maybe a hardcore fan who also had good skill with statistics could have a better bead on their team than the professionals? It's certainly true that we know much more about spurs than the journos paid to inform us.

Perhaps most importantly, I think we can have emotional insight into the spirit of the camp, personal dynamics, and so on, that analysts can't quantify easily.

Of course, these advantages help more measuring spurs against the whole league, than individual match ups where we know relatively little about the opposition compared to the analysts.

Only Skybet have us at longer than 33-1 now, and we're into the 20s with several of them.

Well he's always in the company of men and the players keep crossing themselves when they go on the pitch.

Imagine in 2000 years time some pervert in a frock saying 'and the lord did say triffic'...

Or "It is easier for my mrs to score, than Bent to miss from 2"

By all means put a few quid on Spurs winning the double, but frankly the Big 4 look a lot more comfortable when they play, they really control games something we don't. That said there's nothing to say a team can't win in spite of that but it's a stretch.

We are favourites to be top at the end of the month ,if we manage that surely Redknapp will be manager of the month and JD player of the month.

The bookies only make us 6th favourite to win the league, so they don't really fancy us for top 4, let alone winning the title. You'd be better off betting we'd win the Carling Cup around 13/1
