Depending "IF" the 1st teamers stay away from long term injuries.

Our defence have proven, when King is playing it is a force to be reckoned with, when Woodgate and King are together truly world class and we haven't even seen either of them fully fit yet. Hutton, Chimbonda, Bale and Gilberto are very capable of keeping the very best wingers at bay whilst giving options in attack.

Our midfield have won three noticeable midfield battles this season against Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U. Jenas, Huddlestone, Zokora and Tainio haven't the reputation of the likes of Fabregas, Lampard, Essien, Carrick, but they out played all of them of recent.

Our offence of Berbatov, Keane, Lennon and Malbranque is IMO unstoppable, they cant stop scoring goals against any defence and to me that shows pedigree.

I really think IF they stay away from injuries were take the biggest trophy of them all next season!

i do genuinely believe that we can atleast challenge for the title by 2010. i think next season we should aim to finally break the top 4 and push on from there.

We are currently too inconsistent, but if the current trend continues, we may be contenders, as boombarrakoomba says, by the latest 2010.

i thought you meant; we can win the title this season!! lol :duh:

we have a bright future, and we can definately battle for the title. Lots of our players are maturing and they are showing this in their improved performances (eg Jenas)

There are too many factors to consider to give any kind of solid prediction on where we'll be in comparison to the other top teams in even the next two years. We all saw the way our season fell apart after two of the most dominating displays in recent years - finish fifth, two years on the trot, then find ourselves in February stuck firmly in the middle of the table and a lot of work to do to even catch the next closest above us.

That said, if we continue to develop as a team, then i can see us being far more consistent next year. Yes, that does mean less signings in the summer, but sometimes that's not a bad thing. Personally, i think that in the last two years, in some windows, we've bought for buyings sake and at one point had a ridiculously large, young squad. Sadly, most of them came as build it yourself kits, in several pieces and needing a lot of work, but some are looking really promising now.

I also believe that Kaboul has a really bright future in the English game, i just hope that it's at Spurs. The guy's got exactly the right attitude and, whilst occasionally caught out, it's nearly always because he's so keen to get involved. That's a great sign, now with Ramos and Poyet to reign that in i think we've got a very slick, very cool central defender there.

This is why spurs fans get laughed at

a couple of decent wins and we reckon we're up there with United.

We struggled to beat Derby and Slavia ffs.

Not since Ramos took over we arn't

We still lost to Birmingham, Arsenal, Villa & United and had near misses with Slavia & Aalborg.

We are nowhere near losing around 3-4 games a season, which is currently what it takes.

I tell you what, if you really think we could do that, look how many points we gain on Man U/ Scum / Chelsea till the end of the season when we have no pressure and they have all the pressure. Add the fact the Middlesboro won the league cup a few years ago and thought they'd kick on like we now do. I couldn't be more delighted with the league cup win, but i can only hope you are taking the pis5 and i am being a fool.

Yeah, lets settle down a little and actually be a top half of the table team before we talk about winning the Premiership.

It's reasonable to expect most of the sides currntly above us in the league to improve over the summer. Teams like Man City, Everton and Villa (and of course Newcastle, once the 'Keegan effect' kicks in:wink:) might well have similar expectations to ourselves for the next couple of seasons (not winning the league, but pushing the 'top 4' for a CL place and taking advantage when anyone slips up). Add to that additions and improvements made by Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, who are all some way ahead of us and suddenly the league title looks a long way off.

We seem to have improved a lot since Ramos took over, and taking home a trophy and beating 2 of the top teams in the country on the way is an immense achievement. To Consistently take points over 38 games, keeping our nerve throughout and physically and mentally outdoing players and managers who have done it all before and have experienced that kind of pressure is something we will really struggle with.

Our away form is rubbish, that has to be sorted out before we can think about even challenging for the title, never mind winning it. Getting ahead of yourselves guys.
