If we forget about the manure game when they clearly had issues and defended all night .it seems that Since we lost Sandro we haven't put any good performance . we won narrowly thanks to bale's really good form and heroics . what worries me is that we have games against most top 6 sides where we need a very solid midfield and with parker's sometimes mediocre - generally bad performance. I worry that we will be dominated and maybe thrashed against chelsea or arsenal . and will lose points against weaker sides too with this shaky midfield .

if we had sandro we would definitely finish 4th or above but now ..... (n)

Not convinced that this is directly related to Sandro's absence. Defensively on the whole we still look fine, the team as a whole is so much better than previous years. We don't offer up as many chances as you would expect and this hasn't largely changed. Parker has been out for a long time and is going to take some games to get up to speed but really it's his work on the ball that has been questioned, not his off the ball work.

I think it's attacking wise that we are suffering, for a number of reasons:

- Dembele is going through a dip in form, due to not being 100% fit/tired/getting worked out a bit (depending on who you listen to)
- Lennon is reverting to his unproductive, bordering on anonymous, ways again recently.
- Dempsey is... being Dempsey.
- Strikers: Defoe stopped scoring, and Adebayor just hasn't started.

Then you have the age old problems, that we don't move the ball around well enough in the key areas and our movement could be a lot better.

I agree, for me it's all the about our 'strikers'.

We all know we're a team in transition this season, with key players leaving, key players joining a new approach and style of play under a new manager.

However our strikers should still be able to bang in goals for us despite all this, and they're not.

Adebayor has looked a shadow of himself from last season and Defoe is being Defoe - hot and cold.

It's clear to see the edge that teams get from having a decent striker - Utd vs City this season, the reason why Chelsea are stuttering despite a wealth of quality attacking players, the reason why Swansea have a hope at getting European football.

And the reason why both us and the scum are not higher in the league than we are.

Strikers - we need a top class one and we need him now.

We are such a load of shit aren't we . Just don't know how we are managing to be a clear 4th. Oh woe. Woe is me.

Eh? What have I said that isn't pretty accurate? I think its obvious that certain attacking players have had a bit of a dip in form the last few games.

I think this whole Parker criticism is way OTT. He's still putting it about and making important tackles and interceptions, just like last year when he was our player of the season. He's just not the best in the world when it comes to quick counter attacking link up play, which we all knew from last year too.

The main difference is Sandro (along with Bale) is now our most important player and we're not the same side without him, and Parker works better with him. Parker is still a great player and one or two below par performances, particularly after half a season out, doesn't mean he's suddenly shit (not a pop necessarily at the OP but in general at all the anti Parker brigade).

Yet we are still a clear 4th with Holtby to come in full time and Kaboul and Defoe nearly back, and the best defense in the league over recent games. Would rather be in our position and with our squad then the scums or toffees.

If we have had Sandro instead of Parker facing our own goal receiving a 10 yard pass, then trying an unsuccessful shimmy and make a slow motion 360 degree spin around and passing the ball back where it originated from, our counter attacks would have been much more dangerous.

Remind me how many games we've lost and how many positions we've dropped down since the big man got injured?
