Pretty bang on. I'd expect another couple of young and cheapish players on top of that too tbh. Whether they are a couple in the yoof set-up who have caught AVB's eye in that regard or whether we sign them from elsewhere.

Rose, Carroll and Townsend?!

Yep. I certainly had Towsned in mind as one of the wide players. Carroll - I dunno. Not sure AVB trusts him tbh. Maybe needs a proper loan. Without playing time, nobody will really know. Rose, I'd like to see back in the squad but who knows what will happen there.

Holtby will show his worth next season. That I am sure. We all know the quality he possesses from watching him at Schalke.

Sell them all! Let's get Juninho in and Zola.

Just like Champ 96-97.

People keep banging on about left back. Look, I'm not BAE's biggest fan either, in fact sometimes he enfuriates me. But for what it's worth he's done a good job for us over the years. I think we have more important areas to improve first and should prioritise.

A centre forward and a creative midfielder are a must, I'd rather see us put as much money into that as possible. If we can get good money for Ekotto and be able to get in someone who is definitely going to cut the mustard without us having to detract from the budget for the latter two positions I mentioned then fine, but can't see too many options about.

AvB needs to be ruthless. Lots of 'comfortable' players treading water in our squad, and Im thinking of Lennon, Defoe, Hudd, Parker and BAE.

We dont need extensive reworking as an above poster pointed out we are only 6 points off second and have just got a record points haul. But we are carrying too many.

2-3 'good' signings needed, Townsend back.

ive got faith in AvB to highlight the players that we need, just hope Levy backs him.

Defence concedes too many, not enough creativity in midfield, a new striker needed and an upgrade on Lennon. So yeah at lot of work needed IMHO. We've played some very dour football this year and not smashed any teams apart from the first Inter game

And yet we equaled the highest number of games won, the lowest number of games lost, and scored the second highest amount of goals (only one goal of the highest) compared to any other PL season. We conceded three or more goals in only four games in all competitions. That considering all the other stuff we know regarding new coaching staff, loss of key players and injuries. Well done Tottenham. Sets us up nicely for next season where we hopefully can break the new points record we set this season.

No point in resting on our laurels though is there? Some of the things I mentioned hopefully can be retified by coaching, such as the defending

Townsend, Rose, Kaboul and Sandro will be like four new signings.

Agreed, and I trust we will improve next season. Not sure we need 'a lot of work' though, more like tweaking in the right areas.

There is a lot of potential in the squad. Players who could realistically be expected to raise their game a notch next season are Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Caulker, Holtby and Siggurdson; we will have the returning Townsend and Rose, while Carroll and Falque could be important players for us if given them chance. Sandro and Kaboul will be like new signings.

But the one person who is definitely continuing to grow is AVB. He will be a better manager at the start of next season than he was at the beginning of this.

That said we do need strikers, and boy do we ever need to hang onto Bale.

I don't think we need a lot of work - but rather some work and some focusing.

Despite all the talk about our strikers being crap I actually think it's been our defence which has let us down over the past 10 odd games. Individually the players are good or great, but there seems to have been lapses of concentration which have cost goals and points. The losses of Kaboul and Sandro has compounded that, but I actually think that these problems can be rectified through coaching rather than player purchases.

We will buy players in the Summer, and apart from LB I reckon we are pretty sorted at the back in terms of talent, so the players we will buy will be for the front 6 positions. That's where we need strengthening and we almost inevitably will do so (despite the doom-sayers) so it's not looking too bad.
