Again I totally agree hate them with a passion and I am TTID but are any of my statements above wrong? Unfortunately not.

Your just shitting yourself because Arsenal's had a good week, are now 4pts behind us and we have ManU next.

We have our own plans we're not standing still, we're building a state of the art training facility that will hopefully attract top class player, we're securing sponsorship for a 56,000 stadium, we're 3rd in the league and have a tremendous squad with an under current of good young players coming through ie Caulker Rose Livermore Carroll.

Things are looking bright for Tottenham To Dare Is To Do.

We do things our way and in Levy we have steady leadership.

Exactly what I expected from someone as I alluded to in my opening statement.....

You're obviously either:

a) An Arsenal fan
b)14 years old or less
c) Know fuck all about football
d) All of the above.

I haven't insulted you, I've been as down as anyone about last Sunday, I'm as gutted about them sneaking a win today, I'm not so blinkered that I can't see they have some things going for them.

And yet I have given you a multitude of reasons why I disagree with your post at this point in time.

It wasn’t you that insulted me it was the guy before your post.....

Anyway I didn’t expect this to go down well, just wanted to be a bit realistic in regards to the bigger picture.

We have had a good season it would be great to get champ league and also maybe even a couple of trips to Wembley.

If they lose RVP for any length of time they will be screwed. They have been very lucky with him this year as he has not been injured yet. They will not win many game without him.

I agree they are ahead of us in terms of income and a shiney new stadium but in a few years we will catch up with that aspect. We are 4 points ahead of them with a game in hand, have a better starting 11 than them and pay half the wages they do. We are doing alright for a team that are a million miles behind them.

Right just for the record I hate them as much as you! I cheer for every team they play against like my own and I hate everything they stand for…..

However as much as it hurts me I appreciate what they have done……

Before you take it upon yourselves to insult me etc. Treat this as indeed a forum to express points and thoughts etc and feel free to comment on the ones you agree/disagree with….

They lost 2 out of 3 of their best players at the beginning of the season. (Nasri and Fabregas) – Take x2 of Bale, VDV and Modric out of our squad and see what happens.

They are going to finish in the champions league places, and a lot are saying they are going to catch us and do it automatically.

They have turned the club from one that makes a loss into a profit.

They have an all singing all dancing stadium that is pretty much paid off for…..

They have had and will have a loyal manager that has helped them through this transition, where is ours? Oh yes that’s right off to manage our national team.

They have made the effective transition that every one of the previous ‘big four’ needed to make, what I am referring to is an aging squad! Chelsea and Liverpool have failed. However Man Utd and Arsenal have in my opinion done this effectively with limited upset, whether this be by buying in young talent or developing it.

So if someone said to you for let’s say 6-7 years we too wouldn’t win a trophy but get to a few finals, and qualify for the champions league every season but at the end of it have a club/business in the same position as them now would you take it?

I would snap their hand off…….

Nobody has actually addressed your points with any sophistication as far as i've seen, maybe 1 or 2 have at least given reasonable responses. Read my signature for my opinion on posting styles.

They lost players?

They are shit, they have the best striker in the world who is top scorer in the league by a fair distance who has won them something like 10 or more games single handedly this season. Put him in any team and they would be further up the table than their squad suggests. Also he will no doubt be off to Madrid, City or Barca in the summer.

They will finish in the CL/ahead of us?

They still have to play Stoke, Everton, Wolves, West Brom and QPR away. Along with City and Chelsea at home. To get ahead of us we have to lose 3 games whilst they go unbeaten through that(or lose 2, draw 1 and a goal difference swing). They wont finish ahead of us, they were lucky vs Liverpool and Chelsea will probably beat them to 4th as they have an easier run in.

Agree they have turned the club to one that makes a profit but so have we.

Their stadium is complete yes, however we have been told by Levy the stadium wont effect transfer dealings(unlike Arsenal).

Manager i agree with but we don't know where Harrys going yet.

They have made an effective transition?

No they haven't they have slipped further and further down the table through the transition. Also they pay ridiculous wages compared to us, so maybe it looks like they don't spend on transfer FEES but they pay far, far more on WAGES than us.

I would not want to be in their position as i feel our position is actually stronger just now.

This, it's a total joke just how much of a one man team they are. Without RVP they would be mid table at best.

Arsenal have been stuck in the same position for a long time now. The Champions League is all that is keeping them going these days. They haven't mounted a serious challenge for the title in a long time. They haven't won a trophy in a long time. They don't look like being title challengers anytime soon.

I certainly can't see them being successful again under Wenger. For all that he has done at Arsenal he did take over at a great time. He was able to build on the defensive foundation that Graham built. It was the perfect platform to turn Arsenal into the most devastating counter attacking team in the League. They had a great era, just like we have had a couple of great eras too. But their era died off about 7 years ago.

To say we're a million miles away from them is so far from the truth it's unreal. We've been closing the gap on Arsenal these past couple of years under Harry. So much so that we're now looking the stronger team. We're now considered by many to be the most exciting team in the League. Not only that but we too now have a fancy Stadium in the pipeline, with a fancy training facility.

We're on the verge of greatness. Our era is coming very soon. Watch this space.

We are not a million miles from them in some ways, but some of you are more deluded than the OP's sentiments if you think that we are not still behind them in most ways including football.

As The OP rightly points out, Arsenal lost the best player of his kind in the EPL (Fabregas) and another of their most creative players (Nasri) yet are still playing much better football, more consistently than us, and have outplayed us twice this season, despite us supposedly having a superior team.

For us to have overtaken them in the footballing sense we would have to start looking like it when we play them and start finishing above them consistently. We haven't managed that once for last 15 years.

In every other way they are vastly superior to us. They are coached better, they make vastly more money than us, partly thanks to their fantastic new stadium and because there coaching ethos has seen them constantly achieve CL football and previously win championships.

We are starting to make progress in comparison, but have a long way to of to even be close to being compared to where they are and achieving what they have over the last decade plus.

Is this a joke?

Blokes on a wind up

They had four attempts on goal today, were very lucky.

I hope they give RVP 150k a week cos this I'd the one season he won't be injured. Starting to look like an old man already

10) I would snap their hand off…….

1) I don't hate them, they are just rivals.

2) You can't start a thread on a Spurs forum saying Arsenal are a million miles behind in every way when we are above them in the table and not expect negativity.

3) Why on earth should we applaud a football club for selling their best players? This is a football league not monopoly. Utd stood firm and got a great season out of C.Ronaldo before selling him for a record fee. We did the same with Modric, by not selling, and are having our best Prem season to date. No way will I applaud a football club for actively choosing to sell their best players when they don't financially need to.

4) Dpn't know that yet. They've had two good results, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

5) We also make a profit most seasons and our turnover is increasing every year.

6) We are also looking for a stadium, it's taking some time.

7) They have a manager who hasn't won them anything in years. His signings over the last six years have been more miss than hit. I'd rather a Redknapp for a few years than look for a long term manager who wouldn't get the same results Redknapp does. Not confirmed he's leaving yet anyway.

8) yes they have, problem is most of their young players aren't looking that great. The wages they pay these average players is obscene.

9) That isn't a choice we have to make. Redknapp looks set to get us into the CL in 2 of his 3 full seasons with us. We are also in a strong position in the FA Cup.

10) They were helped massively by being part of the 'big two' when there were 2 CL places. We are playing catch up from almost 2 decades of mediocrity in the Prem. The situation's aren't the same.

Why are you having a wank over Arsenal so much? Why can't you show the same appreciation and enthusiasm for what our club is doing and trying to achieve?

I know very few people who can't see these are exciting times for our club.

We look at our starting 11/squad etc and say oh look we are better than these on paper blah blah blah but when you look at the bigger picture we are in a bit of a pickle.....

Our run in includes Stoke, Swansea, Norwich, Blackburn and Fulham at home. In fact, after tomorrow, all our home games are ones which most of us would expect to win. We're two very winnable games away from an FA Cup semi final. We're still third with a four point advantage on fourth, seven on fifth. Which pickle exactly are we in?

Not this season squire, we have rightly been lauded by many as playing the best football in the division.

This is the worst gooner side I have seen in a long time. The fact that they are as close to us, one of the better Spurs sides I have seen in a while, is down to the influence of RVP.
